Door Speaker Rattle FIX with Pictures
I hate rattles. period. Today I spent the whole day fixing rattles. Did the real parcel shelf and passenger's side rattle. Here's the complete guide to remove the door card on a coupe and fix the rattling issue.
First you must disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before doing anything on the door card. There's an airbagbehind the card and you don't want it active while you mess there.
As the picture illustrates there are 5 Torx (T15) screws that need to be removed. 3 long screws are along thearmrest, 1 is behind the plastic airbag cover and another one inside the door handle. The white round circlesdemonstrate the position of plastic clips. When you pull the door out they come off and may break so havereplacements ready. 11 on each door. The yellow rectangles show metallic clips that are used to secure the door cardalong the top of the door.

Remove all screws and pull door card towards you, prying a bit along the edges to unclip it.
Disconnect the speaker wires (and the electric mirror ones if it's the driver's side)

The door airbag:
Here's the door card. The rattle comes from around the speaker area. I removed the speaker, plastic ring andinsulation. I then glued EVERYTHING from the inside with black silicone, glued the plastic ring in place and also gluedthe speaker with silicone. I used silicone and not glue in case I needed to remove the speaker later. Then I applied apiece of cloth above the speaker which remained in place due to all the silicone around. I know it's a ghetto fix but itworks.

Closer. Basically I filled all the space around the speaker area with rattle absorbing materials.

The new clips I bought seem to be a new version since they have some kind of rubbery ring around them to makethem fit properly and not rattle..Left: Old, Right: New

After you are done with the rattle fix, take the door card and put the door handle wire back in place, pop the doorcard back, paying attention to align the plastic pins to the holes on the metal part of the door. Use a screw driver topush them a bit if they don't line perfectly. They tend to break if bent.
Make sure the door lock pin is in place,
Push the door handle wire back in place,
Then start pushing the door card back in place. A good hit with your hand will snap the card back in place.

After you make sure all the plastic clips are locked on the metal frame, start screwing back.

Enjoy a rattle-less door card. Repeat on other side if needed.
