If the door panel was clear anodised (LRV 70%), then you would need a door jamb with an LRV 53% or less. i.e. 30% contrast.

Visual Indicators on GlazingWhere there is no chair rail, handrail or transom, all frameless or fully glazed doors, sidelights, including any glazing being mistaken for a doorway or opening;

■ Shall be clearly marked for the full width with a solid and non-transparent contrasting line■ Shall be no less than 75mm wide and extend across the full width of the glazing panel■ Lower edge of the contrasting line shall be between 900 and 1000mm above the fl oor; and■ Shall provide a minimum luminance contrast of 30%.

For buildings where AS1428.1 is not required to be met such as houses, then the manifestation requirements of AS1288 should be applied.
