ativecontributionsfromLizTaylor,AlPachino,MartinSheen,JayLeno,GlenClose,SugarRayLeonard,EdMcMahonandothercelebrities,ishostingDoodlesforDisabilities:acelebrityartsilentauctionthatwilltakeplaceattheFarrellhome,onWednesday,October13from6:00to9:00p.m.Cocktailsandhorsdoeuvreswillbeserved;theeventisfree

andopentothecommunity.

LifeStepsFoundation,aCaliforniabasednon-protorganization,providesservicesforthousandsofchildren,teensandadultswithphysical,emotional,developmentalandmentalhealthdisabilities.LifeStepsequipsthoselivingwith

specialneedswiththenecessaryskillstogrowasresponsible,self-sucientcitizensbyprovidingin-homeandcenter-basedservices.

Peoplewhodealwithdisabilitieshavetherighttoenjoylifesblessingsandparticipateintheworldliketherestofus,saidMikeFarrell,thisyearsDoodlesforDisabilitieshost.LifeStepsallowsthemtodothat.Farrellisapassionatehu-manrightsactivist.Hisdaughter,ErinFarrell,hasbeenaLifeStepsboardmemberforthepastsixyears.

DoodlesforDisabilitiesisanannualfundraiserforLifeSteps.ProceedsfromthecelebritydoodlesallowLifeStepstocontinuetofundsocialservicesprogramsthatareprovidedtolow-incomeindividualswithdiabilitieslivingacrossthestateofCalifornia.

Nearly20%ofCaliforniansreportaneedformentalhealthservices,saidLeahWeiner,directorofdevelopmentforLifeSteps.OncetheGovernorsMentalHealthBudgetreductionof$452.3millionhitsthehomesofthedisabledcommu-nity,ourserviceswillbeinhigherdemandthaneverbefore.WithCaliforniasbudgetonhold,payingfortheseservices

isnexttoimpossible.
