Don’t like your iPhone Headphones? Get Comfortable EarPods!

The old iPhone headphones, or ear buds if you would, were the bad apple of the Apple family.Those headphones are probably the single poorest, most prone to breaking product make byApple… ever!

Enter the new Ear Pods. These are the new Apple headphones, made specifically for the newiPhone 5 range after 3 years of back-breaking research, and the folks over at Apple are darnproud of them.

Should they be?Well first of all, anything they could have done to those old disgraceful headphones would havebeen an improvement.

But the new ones are surprisingly good too! In fact they are so good that we say these ear podsare worth their $29 price tag. Overall, we think that many iPhone users and music aficionadoswill be happily surprised with the new Ear Pods from Apple. They sound a lot better than thepredecessors, the fit is snuggly and they’re easier to use.

Why Do We Love The New Apple Headphones?We hate the original ear buds, and if you are anything like us you will appreciate the newergonomic design that won’t slip off during a walk or a jog. The price is at least a hundred

dollars less than the high-end alternatives we would have had to buy. The new Apple earphonesare a good option for the low to mid price range.

If some of the other Ear Pod headphone reviews are anything to go by, these are probably evenworse than the old ones. But we like them a lot.

They sound good, look good and have all the controls for the iOS device. What else do youneed‽

Now for an in depth review of the Ear Pods. Here is a look at the different specs of the newApple Headphones:

The New Apple Ear Pods: Comfort and SoundThe design of the new Apple headphones is the most unique thing about them. The unique,space-age look is achieved by the more distinctive, ergonomically shaped speaker that fits the earcanals in a snugger, comfy fashion, and supports a dual output. The old ones had the verycommon and ubiquitous round shape that hurt the ear after a few moments of wearing them sothis ergonomic shape is a huge improvement and makes for comfortable wear.

Apple officials say that these were not designed to be noise cancelling. But the snug fit ensuresthat very little of the outside voice makes it into the wearer’s ears. The sound from these iPhoneand iPod headphones feels a lot more dynamic and has a better range than the original Appleheadphones. We even felt that the base was a lot more pronounced. The dual setup means thatthese headphones can indeed do the noise cancelling thing when making phone calls.

The New Apple Ear Pods: Mic and Remote FunctionalityThe inline remote is a just like the one they had on the previous version of these ear phones. Youcan play, pause, fast forward and rewind, and yes, increase and decrease the volume as well. The

built in mic lets you talk to Siri, control calls and if you have an older iPhone, you can also usethe VoiceControl function with these new Ear Pods.But the larger design on the new Apple headphones makes it more cumbersome to find theremote and mic assembly in the new Ear Pods. And these also seem to be made out of the samelow gauge wire as the original headphones, making their durability more questionable. The micitself sounds pretty much the same as the old headphones.

The New Apple Ear Pods: Designed For SuccessThe Ear Pods have angled ports so the sound, with all its deliciousness, shoots straight into yourear canal. There are four slots on each pod that let air move out of the hard plastic shell when thesmall speaker moves, this creates acoustic resonances that boost the bass in your head andamplifies the overall sound. The speakers have also been done over with flexible materials,making them more efficient than other earbuds and headphones.

And remember, you are getting all this for $29!The oblong ear pods fit a little more firmly than circular earbuds. Apple says that they came upwith this particular shape for their iPhone headphones by studying 3D models of many differentears, Apple finally decided at a shape that could fit most of them. They say I was like designing ashoe that fit absolutely everyone! Hmmm!

Apple also claims that the pods are sweat-resistant.Possibly the greatest thing about the Ear Pods is that they don’t have the rubber edges that fallapart quickly. The only problem with these new iPhone Headphones is that the wires get just astangled as before. We would have liked some weighted cords. Oh well, maybe next time!

At $29, they’re not as costly as the luxury, high-end earpieces. Anyone who has ever owned anApple device has one of the old Apple headphones beasts lying around. We have a few of them,as those used to be shipped with every iPhone, iPod, and iPad up until the arrival of iPhone 5.

We say it is definitely worth your while to upgrade, or if you can wait (we couldn’t!) just get forfree with your next Apple device.

Most ear buds and headphones that come prepackaged with devices these days are poor, or atleast mediocre. Compared to what the competition is offering, these Apple headphones are prettyamazing. As mentioned earlier, these are certainly an improvement over the previous iPhoneheadphones, the Ear Pods are definitely hard to beat for the price! As always, these are not goingto please everyone and people will still have issues with them, but we expect a majority of iOSdevice owners to fall in love with them immediately.
