don’t just listen
DESCRIPTION
A sermon on James 1:22-25TRANSCRIPT
DON‟T JUST LISTENJames 1:22-25
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive
yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens
to the word but does not do what it says is like
someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and,
after looking at himself, goes away and
immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But
whoever looks intently into the perfect law that
gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting
what they have heard, but doing it—they will be
blessed in what they do.
Jeremiah 29
10 This is what the LORD says: “When
seventy years are completed for Babylon, I
will come to you and fulfill my good
promise to bring you back to this
place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future.
Jeremiah 29
10 This is what the LORD says: “When
seventy years are completed for Babylon, I
will come to you and fulfill my good
promise to bring you back to this
place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future.
Leviticus 13
45 “Anyone with such a defiling disease must
wear torn clothes, let their hair be
unkempt, cover the lower part of their
face and cry out, „Unclean! Unclean!‟ 46 As
long as they have the disease they remain
unclean. They must live alone; they must
live outside the camp.
Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. Then you will be
able to test and approve what God‟s
will is—his good, pleasing and perfect
will.
