Ministry of European Integration is the main government body in charge of donor coordination in Kosovo. The coordination of donor assistance is needed to improve the effectiveness of donor funds by integrating external assistance into national and regional planning priorities and ensuring that there is no overlap of financing similar actions from a number of different sources and those synergies between different actors are identified and supported to maximize overall benefit. Monitoring and reporting are part of ensuring effective donor coordination and efficient and relevant use of resources. To ensure that MEI is up to date with all the necessary information for a successful

coordination of donors and partners active in Kosovo we have composed the main donors’ information including main objectives, current activities, future planning and contact details. This information, including the Annual Report on Donor Activities and Sector Screening Report contributes to having a better record of the contributions of the donors and partners that are active in Kosovo. More specifically the purpose of donor profile is to assist the Ministry of European Integration mainly, and related sector stakeholders to have a snapshot of main donors and their activities, and this is to be ongoing considering that this is to be updated regularly.

USAID's projects in Kosovo focus on economic growth, democracy and governance to help achieve lasting security, prosperity and stability. Improved education, economic opportunities and quality of life increase the confidence of Kosovo Serbs that they have a viable future in Kosovo. USAID’s FY 2014 – FY 2018 Strategy proposes an overarching goal that “Kosovo Becomes an Increasingly Prosperous Country, Progressively Integrating into the Euro-Atlantic Community, with More Effective and Accountable Governance”. The strategy covers three main objectives:

Improved Rule of Law and Governance that Meet Citizens’ Needs, Increased Investment and Private Sector Employment, Enhanced Human Capital.
