CommentsonKoreanLanguageCourse

Korean Language Course

FurutaniTomoyo(InternationalTourism/ Japan) IbelievemyKoreanlanguageskillhas improvedalotafter takingoneyearof Korean language course in Dong-A university. Moreover, I have had alot of opportunities tomake friends fromother countries by participatingin various events. The course was enjoyable and the atmosphere wascomfortable because of the close relationship I had with the lecturers.Even though it was a short period, learning Korean at Dong-AUniversitywasa very joyful experience.

I remember being very nervouswhen I first started the course. Imade a fewmistakes because IwasnotgoodatKoreanat that time. However, duetothemanywonderfulencounters Ihavemadewithothers, Iwasable toadjust to thestudent life, andwasable toenjoyhavingconversationswithmy friends.

GIDEONNOVRIANHANINDITYA(InternationalTrading, GraduateSchool / Indonesia)It was a life-changing opportunity to takeKorean language course inDong-A University. I had studied there and gained a practically useful knowledgeand skills for 40 weeks. I am so grateful for all the teachers and staff whoteachfully inKoreanwhenteachingusasabeginnerstudent. Consequently,it has enhancedmy Korean skill and confident drastically. All the extracur-ricular activity such as international day, having a simple dinner, culturalgame activity, field-trip, and global mentor program is the most beneficial

program formeasa foreignerwhocouldn’t speakKoreanat all or evenmaking friends inKorea forthe first time. I could feel how the teachers taught and assist us wholeheartedly, and it was beyondmyexpectation. Lastly, Globalmentorprogramhas taughtmea lot of experiencesasuniversity stu-dent inSouthKorea, andwestill keep in touchanddoing languageexchange till now. Now, while I amdoingmymaster degreeatDong-AUniversity, I amalsoworkingasan intern in theCampus International office formore than twomonths. I also successfully gotmyTOPIK level 4, andgot an opportunity to involve as an English coordinator in one of the student club at Dong-AUniver-sity.

TranLeThanhVy(IntermnationalTrade, Junior / Vietnam)Myname is TranLeThanhVy fromVietnamstudying International TradeinDong-A university since 2014.It was two years agowhen I attended the Korean Language Course. Thematerials I learned fromthe textbookswereveryusefulandhelpful inmydaily lifeconversations. Though thematerialsweresufficient foreverydayconversations, there were some challenges during the actual classes.

There were many reports I had to write and presentations I had to prepare. Therefore, I think itwould be better if the Korean Language Course taught more expressions related to the collegelife andacademics.

FengJing (GraduateSchoolEnglishLanguageandLiterature / China)WhenI firstcametoKorea, I thought learningtheKoreanlanguagestart-ingfromvowelsandconsonantswouldbeverydifficult. However, studyingwith the lecturers turnedout to beagreat pleasure forme. Itwas suchawonderful experience to study the Korean language with students fromvarious countries around the world. Furthermore, we were also able tocommunicate and express ourselves in Korean, which we’ve learned

throughtheKoreanLanguageCourse, invariouseventssuchasathleticcompetitions, dramafes-tivals, essay contests and group cultural experience activities. Learning and studying Korean insuchanaturalatmospherehelpedmyKorean languageskill improvesignificantly throughout thepastyear. IwasabletoachieveaTOPIKlevel4 while IwasintheIntermediate1 levelcourse. Dong-AUniversity’sKoreanLanguageCoursewasquitesatisfyingandagreatpleasure. Ihopeallcurrentandprospectivestudentsof theDong-AUniversity’sKoreanLanguageCoursewillenjoythecourseasmuchas I did.
