Short
of
Glory
I would like to thank everyone who
inspired me to write this book. My
mom, who has always been there for
me from the very start, and has al-
ways pushed me to do more than I
could ever dream of. I would like to
thank my brother (John Noble) and
cousins (BJ Sherrill and Rashad Sher-
rill) for always having my back and
making me want to compete to be
that much better. This book means a
lot to me and a big reason why is be-
cause it tells of the journey I took,
that both God and my family helped
to paved for me. Thank you.

Domonique loved to play football and often
caught himself dreaming of the day that he’d
be living them out by playing college football,
and if he was lucky enough, to go to the NFl. He had
these dreams all of the time, often reciting plays, and
chants in his sleep. But young Domonique always
came to reality whenever his alarm buzzed for him
to wake up. He would always wake up at the crack of
dawn and go outside and play with his friends.
Every Sunday after church Do-
monique, his brother, and his cousins
would play football in their grand-
mother’s big front yard. They played
from lunch, until it was so dark that
they couldn’t see their hands in front
of their face.
Domonique would put anything
aside for the time that he spent play-
ing with his brother and
cousins.
The more Domonique played football, the
more he liked it. And with the passing of the
years his mom also noticed his interest.
Whenever he was the age of 7, she signed him up for
football summer camp. Although shy, Domonique
went out with the same mentality as he would with his
siblings out in the front yard. His main objective was
to have fun, and that’s what he did! He was named one
of the top players at the camp, making his love for the
game a little stronger.
Like many other kids in America, Domonique
was participating in multiple activities like bas-
ketball and football, while still trying his hard-
est in school as well. He had to juggle all of
them at the same time. A feat, that for
a kid at times8, seemed too much. But
he determined to keep on top of all of
them, making his parents proud!
During high school, Domonique played both varsi-
ty football and basketball. Due to limited ability,
Domonique wasn’t quite as good in basketball as he
wanted to. Although he was a two year starter, football
turned the heads of people, whenever he became one of
the best players around. Domonique helped lead his
team to 3 consecutive State Championships, and gain-
ing him honorary achievements. From then on he knew
what his calling was. He was going to be a foot-
ball player!
But his success didn't stop there, one day as he
was sitting in his room his mom opened the door,
phone in hand, said, “Domonique someone’s one
the phone with great news!”. Whenever he an-
swered the phone his High School coach told him
that he had his first division-1 offer from Wiscon-
sin. Taken over by excitement Domonique ran
through the house as fast as he could
screaming to the top of his lungs!
But this wasn’t even the end. Do-
monique received 21 more football of-
fers from schools all over the nation, includ-
ing the one he had waited 11 years for. “You
will receive a verbal offer from Georgia Tech,
congrats!”. This was truly the peak of his ac-
complishments, but the task wasn’t quite
through.
He worked hard in the spring, before reporting
that summer and gained his high school diplo-
ma. Although sports was a big part of his life,
his education was always there with him. Geor-
gia Tech was a great choice for him because
even though they had a great team, they
were also one of the best engineering
schools in the nation.
In the summer of 2011, Domonique en-
rolled in Georgia Tech, where he attended
school and played football. He never
stopped working and made new goals at the start
of a different lifestyle. He aspired then, to get a
degree, and most of all, win games for the jackets!
