Namibia is bordered by Angola, Zambia, Botswana, and the Atlantic Ocean Its capitol is Windhoek. Namibias official language is English. But Afrikaans, German, Ovambo, Oshivambo, Nama, Damara, Namadamara, Herero, Tswana and Xoi-san are spoken. Namibian Flag The Namibian has many symbols within it. The yellow on the sun represents sunlight and desert. The blue symbolizes rain and ocean. Green is the crop and vegetation. Red is the bloodshed in was. White is peace and reconciliation. There are 2,171,137 people populating Namibia. Namibia is: 50% Lutheran 10% Indigenous 3% Islam Remaining portion of the religion is unknown. Namibia is a low middle income country that has inequality in income distribution and standard living. The Namibian economy is divided between capitals, the intensive industry that accounts for the domestic products. The labor intensive agriculture employs over half the population. The modern market sector makes a majority of the country's wealth. There are more than 200,00 skilled workers as well as well-trained professional/managerial workers. Having little access to financial and technical assistance the farmers rely on small scale activity and family members who earn wages to make ends meet. Originally Namibia was inhabited by nomadic gathers, hunters and livestock herders. Germany came and colonized South West Africa. Namibia gained independence in There are traces that people lived in Namibia before the Germans but the Germans are the first to have information recorded on living there. March 1,2011 the community of Otjozndu lashed out at the polices handling of the kidnapping and rape of a teacher, saying the lack of speed and urgency that the police handled the situation was allegedly insincere towards the victim. February 25,2011 A former educator murdered his mother and child in a ferocious knife attack near Oshikango two years ago was finally sentenced to 27 years in prison. Segregation is still a thing in Namibia even though there are non-whites joining the upper class. Men care for livestock, homesteads, plow fields and women do agriculture, food preperation, childcare, and house hold work. Weddings are extremely important in Namibia. The weddings combine old and new traditions. In Owambo, couples say their vows in a church ceremony follwed by identically dressed bridesmaids and groomsmen. They then exit with the guests shouting praises, waving horsetail whisks and dancing. Even though there are a lot of cultural differences there is a shared orientation to the nation. Many places people create new ways to interact with ethnic boundaries. Soccer is also a big thing in Namibia Yes, Id love to visit Namibia. I think it would be fun to learn about a new culture, and learns its customs and beliefs. I dont think Id like to live there though because I have grown use to my life in America and would not want to back track to not as up to date ways. In Namibia's case, I prefer my own country. Only because we are more advanced then they are. Mongolia can be found between Russia and China in Eurasia. Its in east and central Asia. Ulan- Bator is the capitol. Mongolian is the official language of Mongolia. (over 90% speak it) Kalmyk, Kazakh, Buriat, and Chinese are also other languages spoken Mongolian Flag The blue strip in the middle and the left and right red strip symbolize water, earth, fire, moon and sun. Red stands for advancement, freedom. Blue represents the sky. The fire and the top of the flag means opulence and rejuvenation,. The sum and moon represent the universe. There are 2,670,966 people in Mongolia as of 2009. Buddhism, Tibetan and Lamaism are the religions of Monoglia. Mongolians have opened there own businesses. Mongolian Americans are employed in a variety of enterprises. 45% of Mongolian Americans are employed in white-collar work. Monogolia is one of the worlds oldest nomadic civilizations. Human remains can be dated back to 500,00 years. The earliest information can be dated back to 4 th or 5 th B.C. At that time mongolia was dominated by Uighurs. In chinas last dynasty (1911) Qing crumbled and Monoglia was declared independent. Mongolia eats traditional dishes, for example tea. Lamb that is boiled in water, cut up into pieces and mixed with fresh cut onions and a little lamb stock.. Yumm! Mongolian women have the job of preserving memories, customs, traditions. Her first obligation is to be a good wise and raise a family. They do not have as much freedom as men. Today Mongolian women are conflicted between two worlds, the American lifestyle or there traditional lifestyle. Many women have left and pursed higher education and jobs outside of the home The coldest month is January. [-35 C] The warmest month is July [25 C] Over 260 days of the year are sunny and cloudless. The chance of rainfall and snow are very low because of the climate. Rain does usually occur in July and August and snow blizzards can occur in winter. Id like to visit Mongolia, the food sounds interesting and Id really love to see how there religion works and old traditions. I wouldnt want to live there though, Im too lazy to get rid of my American ways for new ones.
