Pentecost Sunday Domingo de Pentecostés

Dear Parish Family, members, a endees, guest and seekers,

Christ is Risen! "As the Father has sent me, so I send you". Does this sound familiar? This verse is taken from todays Gospel: Jn 20:21. What did Jesus mean by these words? Jesus is COMMISSIONING the Apostles, to do the same WORK, to do the same MIS-SION, that the Father had sent him to do! Pentecost was the Apostles gradua�on ceremony and Jesus was giving them a brief but powerful commencement speech: "As the Father has sent me, so I send you". Parish Family of Saint Clement, Pente-cost is ALSO our gradua on ceremony and Jesus gives us the SAME commencement speech: "As the Father has sent me, so I send you". These words are our marching orders! Jesus expects us to do a lot more than just "go" to Church on the weekend. JESUS EXPECTS US TO BE CHURCH AND NOT JUST ATTEND CHURCH. So what does it mean to BE Church? Simple, you and I are meant as the Parish Family of Saint Clement to CONTINUE the WORK & MISSION, the Father had sent Jesus to do. We can sum up Jesus' WORK & MISSION, in five words: PRAY, STUDY, SERVE, COM-MUNITY, and EVANGELIZATION. DO THEY SOUND FAMILIAR? Jesus was sent by the Father to form disciples and Jesus FORMED his disciples by teaching them these FIVE SIGNS: Pray, Study, Serve, Community, and Evangeliza on. On the First Pente-cost the Church began forming disciples. On the First Pentecost the Church began instruc ng the people in the same Five Habits/Signs that Jesus had taught them: Pray, Study, Serve, Community, and Evangeliza on.

“Como el Padre me envió a Mí, así los envío Yo a Ustedes”. ¿Les suena familiar? Este verso esta tomado del Evangelio de hoy: Juan 20:21. ¿Qué quiso decir Jesús con estas palabras? Jesús está ENVIANDO a los Apóstoles a hacer el mismo TRABAJO, la misma MI-SIÓN, que el Padre le había dado a Él. Pentecostés fue la ceremonia de graduación de los Apóstoles y Jesús les estaba dando un breve, pero poderoso discurso de co-mienzo: “Como el Padre me ha enviado a Mí, así les envío Yo a Ustedes”. USED SHOE COLLECTION Colecta de Zapatos Usados

Youth Ministry needs your help!

We will be collec ng as many pairs of gently worn shoes or sandals as pos-sible. They can be drop off before and a er the following Mass this weekend or next . A decorated box will be place in Narthex of the church. The shoes will be donated to developing na ons to assist impoverished people start, maintain and grow a mi-croenterprise. Collected shoes will be consolidated and shipped to these micro entrepreneurs who will clean and repair them. Your dona on will allow individuals the chance to feed, clothe and house their families.
