DOING SOMETHING THAT MATTERSLloyd’s Register Group
Our Group exists to serve society through the enhancement of
safety of life and the environment, the protection of assets and
the advancement of technical education. We understand that
our activities touch the very communities and the environment
in which we all live and work, so it is our commitment to rise to
any challenges we may face for the good and benefit of all our
stakeholders.
As a reputable organisation we are dedicated to conducting
all of our operations safely, responsibly, ethically and sustainably.
We prize our integrity, protect our independence, and give due
regard to all applicable legislation and relevant good governance
practices. We also seek to influence society where we believe we
can help to make a positive difference. We face a number of challenges in achieving our aims, and we are committed to doing so whilst
at the same time ensuring that the charities in the Lloyd’s Register Group maintain their charitable objectives.
We understand that each one of us contributes to the effectiveness of our services, and the impression our customers have when working
with us, so we reinforce every individual’s ability to consistently deliver the positive customer experience that we desire to give. We
remain committed to meeting the needs of our customers and wider stakeholders.
For our people, our most significant safety and health risks occur on third parties’
sites, and when we travel to and from those sites. We encourage and offer total
support for everyone to behave in a safe and healthy manner when making those
decisions that have the greatest impact on our own and others’ safety and health.
We acknowledge that our responsibility extends beyond ourselves as individuals,
so we will endeavour to protect others (so far as it is reasonably practicable to do
so), by fostering strong working relationships with those in a position to minimise
the risk of occupational injury and ill health.
Our world is being polluted and its natural resources used in a way that simply
cannot be sustained. We will play our part in protecting our planet so as to ensure
the well-being of current and future generations. We will place consideration of
the environment at the heart of the services we provide, the way we run our
organisation and our own actions as individuals.
Our business assurance system is the foundation of our success. It is built from guiding principles and underpinned by a set of assurance
procedures that enable us to act with confidence and consistency, whilst supporting us to continuously improve what we do for our
customers and for society.
We do this because we “do something that matters”.
