2 Shower switch All staff and students There is a cord hanging from the roof 120cm away from the bath (Due to building regulations). The cord is short enough not to be tangled around someone's neck but be sure that you are aware of it.

3 Equipment All staff and students The equipment will be in different place around the salon, so ensure that you are familiar with these locations. 2

4 Electrical safety All staff and students There are surge switches on each plug station now to ensure full electrical safety to all persons working in the salon. If these trip then please report to your manager. 5

New and expectant mothers risk assessment

This risk assessment should be completed by a line manager upon receipt of written notification from an student that she is pregnant, has given birth within the last 6 months, or is breastfeeding. The assessment should also be completed for an student attending the course within 6 months of delivery of her baby or where she is continuing to breastfeed. The aim of the assessment is to identify any hazards that may result in harm to either the new/expectant mother and/or her unborn baby and to document the controls necessary to avoid or safely limit exposure to those hazards. It is recommended that the assessment be completed in conjunction with the named new/expectant mother.
