The South Downs National Park is a great place to walk your dog and there’s lots of places for responsible dog walkers to explore.

A FEW OF THE BASICS DOS AND DON’TS• Always keep your dog under close control or on a lead near livestock and in areas where ground- nesting birds may be present

• Never get between a cow and her calf, and if chased let go of your dog

• Don’t allow your dog to jump up at other walkers, cyclists or horse-riders

• Always pick up after your dog and place the bag into a bin or take it home to dispose of

• For more guidance, pick up the South Downs National Park leaflet ‘Guide for dog walkers’

We’ve worked with some of you to create a series of videos that show exactly how a dog and owner can get the best from a walk in the countryside.

Watch these videos at the South Downs National Park stand at this event or view them online at southdowns.gov.uk/enjoy/explore/walking/take-the-lead/
