Apologetics:Does God Exist?
Without God there is No Absolute, Transcendent Moral
Law
If you assume there is evil…are you not also assuming that there is good…and if you are assuming that there is both good and evil are you not assuming the existence of a moral law…and if there is a moral law…is it not logical to assume a moral law giver?
If there is no God, then all moral pronouncements are either:
• Utilitarian (designed to be useful or practical rather than attractive)
• Pragmatic (dealing with the problems that exist in a specific situation in a reasonable and logical way instead of depending on ideas and theories)
• Subjective (based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions)
• Emotive (Morals relating or defined by ones emotions
In other words, anything that is good or bad is purely the product of your environment and culture
Aldous Huxley “I wanted to believe the Darwinian idea, I chose
to believe it, not because I think that there is enormous evidence for it, nor because I believe it
had full authority to give interpretation to my origins. I chose to believe it because it delivered me from trying to find meaning, and freed me to
my own erotic passions”
Without God there is no Ultimate Meaning
Without God there is no point of reference that defines for us what
the meaning of life is all about
Ecclesiastes“Meaningless! Meaningless!”
says the Teacher.“Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.”…Now all has been heard;here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
The Sectioning of Concrete Physical Matter
However concrete physical reality/matter is sectioned up, the result will be that what you
end up with owes its being to something other than itself…you will always end up with
something that is not self-explanatory or self-existent.
You cannot have an infinite series of causes in time to get to an object, because, if that were the case you would never get to the object
All physical matter had a beginning, and, that beginning has to have been the result of
one self-existent cause which is not physical.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was
with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was
made that has been made”.
The Argument to design and not from design
Logic tells us that where you see information, prior to that
information there was a mind; there was intellect.
At the end of all things, when a person who never believed that there was a God finally meets Him,
they will realize that they cannot blame God for not giving them enough evidence to believe. No, they will then realize that they are to blame; because it was the suppressing and ignoring of the evidence
that caused their unbelief.
