DESCRIPTION

Students on the Dodge Middle School Green Team worked with City of Farmington staff to plant 15 trees as part of Arbor Day 2012. Dakota Electric donated 5 of the trees which will serve as a natural windbreak for the outdoor skating area located next to the school. School Board Vice-Chair Brian Treakle helped bring the project to reality through the Grow Farmington initiative.

City of Farmington staff explained the process and procedures for tree planting. The group had 15 spruce trees to plant.

Green Team members worked in teams on the task. Five of the trees for the project were donated by Dakota Electric.

When fully grown, the trees will form a windbreak for the outside skating area at the City Park located next to the school.
