Details about the associationTRANSCRIPT
The city of Bucharest, without question, stands
among the European capitals of tomorrow.
Not just a magnet attracting visitors from across
the country, the city increasingly attracts visitors
from afar, coming to discover the “City of Joy” for
tourism or extended stays.
The unique architectural heritage of the Romanian
capital is a major asset for Bucharest, which has
an impressive variety of styles from Brâncovenesc
(first half of the 18th century) to the more experimental
styles of the 19th and 20th centuries (Neoromânesc,
Bauhaus…).
Moreover, now that the city is fully integrated into
the rest of Europe, Bucharest is more than ever
at the heart of the continually evolving contemporary
Romanian society. It is the backbone of the vibrant
cultural landscape of the country, yet again
attracting many visitors who appreciate the appeal
of its human scale and of the diversity the city offers.
Our OfferThe selected building will have
the means to accommodate
three distinct types of services
and activities:
• Independent studios
for residents staying in Bucharest
for medium to longer stays;
• Cultural and community-
oriented activities such as
meetings, seminars, concerts,
events;• A multimedia installation.

a place of accomodation
operating year round, our residency will offer a warm and friendly welcome in an international setting,
adding to the attractiveness of the center’s cultural activities.
In a city where tourism needs don’t cease to increase
(+12.8% in visitors in 2011) and where the
development of economic activities called employees
of hundreds of foreign companies, the tension
related to accommodation is sensitive.
At times, the impersonal character and high price
of a hotel are far to seduce consultants and other
delegates in mission in Bucharest, passing then
abroad a city and a culture that a well-accompanied
visitor can better appreciate and discover
being there.
Offering this kind of accommodation is one of the
main goals of the project and will certainly appeal
to delegates on missions and people stationed in
Romania. The contemporary visitor is now in need
for authenticity and discovering the place where
he stays. In this regard, our project provides the ideal setting
for such a stay: fully furnished apartments allowing
In downtown Seattle, at the doorstep of the tourism
and economic capital of the State of Washington, this
establishment has welcomed visitors from around the
world for more than thirty years. Its success is based
grounded in the diversity of all it offers, combining
high-quality accommodation with easy access
to cultural and collective activities. It strives to play
a role in the coming together of city residents, visitors
and various actors of local life.

a cultural and associative space
Bucharest hosts a great number of associations and ngos (115 of the latter are accredited by the romanian
government) that don’t have the means to own and operate their own premises. inspired by association centers that
exist elsewhere, our project will provide access to the building to those groups requiring a space, thus making the site
available for occasional events.
A place dedicated to cultural activities undoubtedly
enhances the image of a city and of its partners.
Thus, a location allowing for seminars, exhibitions,
conferences, concerts, or any other of a number of
activities, can only grant new possibilities to today’s
Romanian and international artistic scene.
• Space for rent for cultural events or group meetings.
• Access to an equipped kitchen and dining area.
• Multimedia center.
• A yard for outdoor activities.

advantages for our partners
• Generate visibility of the company via an urban
multicultural project.
• Foster image as an involved civic actor for foreign
firms present in Romania.
• Promote pan-European cooperation.
• Advocate French-speaking culture around the world.
As the capital of Romania, Bucharest needs to
promote itself as a warm and multicultural city,
of which this project will be a great illustration.
Furthermore, Bucharest, which at times suffers
from a lack of visibility abroad, will see its reputation
improved thanks to the quality of visitors’ welcome
and the open-minded atmosphere of this new place.
Becoming a part in an international network of similar
places guarantees a positive contribution to its
image, for both the network as for Bucharest.

A French citizen with European roots (from
Great Britain to Greece), David has a privi-
leged link with Romania, a country from which
part of his family comes. Capable of speaking
several languages (French, English, Romanian,
German), his taste for multiculturalism has
been fostered since youth by the cosmopolitan
nature of his surroundings. David has also been
shaped by his travels across several European
countries (Germany, Italy, Portugal, Austria,
Portugal…). In many ways, this project is a
logical next step for him.
David’s involvement in the Parisian associative
scene for some twenty years gives him great
experience in the field, especially regarding
knowledge of the specific needs and means of
functioning of community-oriented groups.
Moreover, his friendships and relations in
Europe and in North America allow him
to benefit from a considerable network of
partners in the areas of both tourism and
international exchanges.
