* RULE ONE: DWV LIES!

DWV has not printed images of the 50th anniversary – other than those officially released by the BBC. Instead, all images of the trailer are recreated in Photoshop referenced from a detailed description from the io9 website.

For years, movie companies have been screwing the UK about releasing their movies earlier in the US than in the UK. But now, it seems, that in this 50th Anniversary Year - the BBC are doing the same.

America is, by far, Doctor Who's biggest potential market and as such it is understandable why certain episodes were filmed in America and co-financed by BBC America (which is the BBC by name only). It is again understandable why the cast go to Comic Con each year.

However, when you start showing the trailer, the most sought after trailer in Doctor Who history - made from license fee payers money - to strictly a US fee paying audience and threaten no more US excusives, it does kick in the teeth slightly. When was the last time the UK had an exclusive. When was the last time any US show aired on the same day as it does in the UK? (I can think of only one occasion where The Simpsons aired earlier on Sky One due to it being a St Patrick's Day special!).

And as if the trailer fiasco was not enough, there's now news that the Series 7 boxset will go on sale one month earlier to America (a country that got the DVD of 'The Name of the Doctor' before broadcast). And to make it worse, the UK version won't have 'The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe' included and will also be missing a few special features.

BBC America is also producing it's own year-long series of celebratory documentaries for each of the Eleven Doctors. There is yet to even be an announcement about any UK air date or release. And if the previous US documentaries are anything to go by the only UK screening will be from the rather dodgy end of the internet.

Finally, carring on from the same-day airing situation it seems that the ENTIRE planet is to get to see the 50th anniversary in real-time (where adverts fit into that, I don't know) meaning that even the initial airing of this episode isn't a UK exclusive. I can understand why, to make it more of an event and to stop spoilers, but I refer you to my previous point - when was the last time any America show was broadcast in this way?

So in this 50th year, which is supposed to be about coming together internationally over a mutual love for a TV show - why does it seem that America is the favourite child?

The official trailer for the 50th Anniversary was released at this years' SDCC but hasn't been uploaded anywhere online – for reasons discussed on Pages 4 & 5. The website io9 have released a breakdown of what happens in the trailer. So what follows is that description paired with images (those officially released and photo-shopped images) to give you an idea of what the trailer will be like.

“The trailer starts out on a haunting, dark note — Matt Smith is walking in the TARDIS, while in voiceover he says, "I've had many faces. Many lives. I don't admit to all of them. There's one life I've tried very hard to forget." And we glimpse the Doctor talking to Clara about his greatest secret.

“And then — what looks like the Time War, between the Daleks and the Time Lords! Seriously. Daleks blowing up, flames everywhere, everything going to Hell. And in the middle of all the carnage, John Hurt as the non-Doctor, looking resolute. "Great men are forged in fire," he says. And then something about being the man who lit the flames.

“And then, we get Tennant and Smith. Tennant, in his TARDIS, yells "Allons-y," while Matt Smith, in his, yells "Geronimo!"

“ And then a shot of both of them wearing clever glasses, while Smith wears his fez and they look delighted with their cool gear. And then a glimpse of Rose, looking excited.

“Oh, and the TARDIS being airlifted down to Trafalgar Square with the Doctor hanging down from it.

“Rose pops up and warns that "the moment is coming." And John Hurt's non-Doctor says that he is ready for what's going to happen

“And then: the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors comparing their sonic screwdrivers, as Tennant looks possibly a bit jealous of Smith's screwdriver..

The momentIs coming

I'M READY

“Smith is in the TARDIS, when he says, "I remember this. I pretty much remember." And we see twinkly lights travelling across the Earth.

“David Tennant and John Hurt are inside Matt Smith's TARDIS. "Oh, you've redecorated. I don't like it," Tennant says, channelling Patrick Troughton in "The Three Doctors."

“A title appears: "This fall, the Doctor will face his darkest day: Himself."

“And we see Zygons, plural. Busting out of a glass case. And then some more shots of Daleks blowing up and being torn apart and generally being Da-wrecked.

“Inside the TARDIS, Tennant tells Smith, "For once, I would like to know where I'm going." Smith responds: "No, you really wouldn't."

“And then, someone says, "I'm looking for the Doctor." And the camera pans around to show Hurt, Tennant and Smith, with the two Doctors trying not to look at their unacknowledged predecessor. Tennant shrugs and says, "Well, you've certainly come to the right place."

YOU'VE REDECORATED!I DON'T LIKE IT!

KAREN GILLAN SHAVES HEAD

Former Doctor Who star, Karen Gillan has been cast in Marvel's new movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy' as Nebula. The famously bald Nebula.

Karen unveiled her bold and bald new look at this years Marvel panel at San Diego Comic Con to a packed hall.

“I may have done something crazy”, she said just before removing her ginger wig.
