Stop The Cycle

• Domestic violence should not happen to anybody. Ever. But it does - and when it does, there is help. Maybe you have lived with abuse, maybe it happened just once; maybe you work or live next to someone who is being abused right now.

Page 8: doc

Stop The Cycle

• Don’t wait for it to become explosive. This can be destructive for you and anyone else in the home, like a child.

Page 9: doc

What You Can Do• Have an escape list ( I have provided one

for you, so not to worry )

• Realize you can’t change someone. They must want to change themselves. They must get help, this is not something you do alone.

• Stop listening to the promises.

• Most importantly, just because your okay with it doesn’t mean it’s okay for the kids.

Page 10: doc

What You Can Do

• Get the children and yourself immediate counseling. You can get free counseling through schools, local health departments, shelters, employer, etc.

• Most importantly, never say you can’t do something. You are stronger than you think and if you have children you must be strong for them.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Authorities say a Spartanburg man is charged with homicide by

child abuse after his girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter died.

Police say 31-tear-old Tony Tyre was watching the girl last Sunday and said she had a seizure. But doctors said the bruises on the girl’s head and

body were caused by abuse.Deputies say the girl also suffered a broken arm a few weeks before she died and Tyre initially said she fell out of bed, but later admitted he hurt her.

Officer charged with pulling gun on ex-husband The Miami Herald A Miami-Dade police major has been stripped of her gun and badge after she was accused this week of pulling her firearm on her former husband -- also a Miami-Dade major.

In November, her former husband was relieved of his duties as the Cutler Bay commander, after his current wife accused him of shoving her. The two police officers, who have three children together, were both granted temporary restraining orders against each other this week. She alleged that her former husband choked her.

Ohio 2-16-08The toddler's words to investigators

were chilling: "Mommy's crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in the rug,"

and, later, "Daddy's mad." The statements by the 2 1/2-year-old son of a former police officer and his pregnant lover were investigators' first clues that the ex-officer may have had something

to do with her disappearance. The pregnant woman’s mother found the

couple's son home alone on June 14 and called police.

Bedroom furniture was toppled, and there was a pool of bleach on her

floor. The ex-officer, led investigators to her body, wrapped in a comforter and dumped in a park about 20 miles

from her home. The ex-officer took the stand and tearfully explained that he accidentally killed his former lover, at her home by putting an elbow to her throat when she tried to prevent him from leaving her house. He said he

then panicked and got rid of her body.
