There are many questions so that you have the opportunity to work with students who are still not secure in adding or subtracting fractions. Some of the questions are very challenging, particularly at the end of the magic squares sheet. Pair students up who are working on the same questions so that they work together. Students should refer back to work in their books to practice using their notes. The answers are provided so that students can mark each other’s work. A good method of doing this is having the answers face down between them and then at 5 minute intervals students check their answers and work together to correct any mistakes, annotating what they have done to correct their work.
