Liaison report from the Bluetooth SIG to IEEE 802.11. Presented for the purpose of increasing awareness of Bluetooth SIG activities related to co-existence and use of IEEE 802.11 wireless technology in cooperation with Bluetooth wireless technology.

POTENTIAL COLLABORATION AREAS
• Liaisons have been identified (IEEE 802.11 and WFA)
• No changes envisioned for IEEE Std 802.11™ -2007 for use as a Bluetooth Alternate MAC/PHY
• Would like to see alignment of IEEE standard with WFA certification program to simplify product development.
• Possible collaboration with IEEE 802.11 on methods for co-location of Bluetooth wireless technology, IEEE 802.11, and Licensed Broadband Radios (LBR) operating in the 2.3 or 2.5 GHz band (e.g., WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e), LTE, UMB (IEEE 802.20)).
