ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS DREXEL MSE DEPARTMENT HEAD (2000-2008)

The MSE department at Drexel University experienced tremendous growth during my tenure as

the department head during 2000-2008. The undergraduate student numbers grew from 56 to

over 90, the graduate student numbers grew from 35 to over 70, and the annual research

expenditures grew from about $1.6M to about $4.5M. The growth of the department was

recognized in the annual rankings by Academic Analysts, where it was ranked #10 nationally

among Materials Science and Engineering programs in 2006.
