What does everyone need?• The four basic needs for survival are food, water,
clothing, and shelter. • Will everyone have enough money to pay all of

• 1,891,322 persons in GA are currently receiving benefits from SNAP
Is the Economy changing?• In November 2011, the USDA said 45.8 million
Americans or 15 percent of households struggle to get enough food to eat, and one-third of those people had to sometimes skip or cut back on meals.

A college education…•High school graduates today are not able to
obtain the high paying jobs of the past.
•The U.S. has been transformed from a manufacturing based economy to an economy based on knowledge, and the importance of a college education today can be compared to that of a high school education forty years ago. An education is the student’s gateway to the future.

questions and explore new ideas, which allows for additional growth and development of each individual.
•Your CTAE courses (business education, culinary arts, auto mechanics, etc.) have new performance standards to increase rigor and relevance for you to see the importance of an education.
