Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my report about men and yeast infections.

Most people, when they think about yeast infections, think about how they affect women, but few consider the impact on men.

However, men, children, and pets are also prey to aggressive yeast over-growths, but sometimes their symptoms are misread or overlooked.

In this report I will answer the following questions:

Do Men Get Yeast Infections?

What are the Different Types of Yeast Infections a Man Can Get?

How Do Men Get Yeast Infections?

What are the Symptoms of a Male Yeast Infection?

What Methods are Used to Treat a Male Yeast Infection?

How Can a Male Yeast Infection be Prevented?

This is just the first of several special reports I am preparing for you. My proposed list of reports include:

Do Men Get Yeast Infections?

Yep, you sure do!

But, fortunately, you have them less often than women.

Unfortunately, the symptoms of a yeast infection may not be recognized. Instead, they may be mistaken for another condition that has similar symptoms.

In some cases, you can have a yeast infection with NO symptoms.

When this happens, you are considered carriers, and you may not even be aware you have a yeast infection.

7 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

Note: The term "yeast infection" is common in the US and "thrush" is common in the UK.

The medical term for a yeast infection is “Candidiasis. “

These three terms are used interchangeably in this Report.

Don't confuse “thrust” with the specific condition, Oral Thrush.

Page 8: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

What are the Different Types of Yeast Infections a Man Can Get?

Here are the five most common yeast infections for guys:

Anal Thrush You can pretty much guess that you have anal thrush (pruritus ani – more commonly known as “itchy bottom”) when you have extreme itching in the anal area.

Anal thrush spreads easily from the genital area to the anus.

Athlete's FootAthlete's foot (tinea pedis) is a common fungal infection of the skin that can appear between your toes and on the soles and sides of your feet.

Jock ItchJock itch (tinea cruris) is an itchy groin rash that can appear in the groin area and on the thighs.

Since warm, damp places are prime areas for a yeast infection, if you wear a jock strap, or even tight jeans, you may be subject to jock itch.

Oral ThrushOral thrush (candidiasis oral) occurs in your mouth as white patches on your tongue, lips, and the insides of your cheeks and isn't pretty.

Unlike jock itch and athlete's foot, which can usually be treated with natural methods or over-the-counter medications (OTC), oral thrush will usually require a prescription.

Penile Yeast InfectionA penile yeast infection (candidal balanitis) is recognized by a dry, red, scaly, rash, and itchy spots and patches on the penis and the thighs. The main cause is usually unprotected sex.

Do Men Get Yeast Infections? 8

Page 9: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

As a rule, this form of Candidiasis is passed back and forth between you and your sexual partner.

One of you might clear up their yeast infection, only to be infected again during the next sexual encounter. This can go on for months until both of you get rid of the problem.

9 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

NOTE: It is possible to have a penile yeast infection and not have any symptoms.

Page 10: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

How Do Men Get Yeast Infections?

We're dealing with two different situations here:

You can get a yeast infection from someone else, or from situations like a communal swimming pool or locker room.

Or, you can get a yeast infection as the result of a yeast intolerance caused by an overgrowth of yeast in your system.

Transmission of Yeast Infections It's very important for you to understand, as we discussed above, that yeast infections can be transmitted from one person to another and are classified as a sexually transmitted infection (STI).

They can also be transmitted from clothes or towels, for example, and at places where you tend to walk around bare footed, such as locker rooms or communal showers.

Yeast IntoleranceThe yeast in and on your body, which is necessary and beneficial, is called Candida albicans.

An intolerance to the Candida albicans yeast occurs when there is an abnormal growth of this yeast, creating much more than you need.

This condition is called Candidiasis, Thrush, yeast overgrowth, or Yeast Infection.

There are many reasons why yeast infections occur. Stress, poor diet, diabetes, antibiotics, and a weakening of the immune system are just a few of the causes.

Your body contains many different kinds of bacteria, most of it beneficial. There is bacteria that is used to keep the Candida albicans under control. Any of the above causes that

Do Men Get Yeast Infections? 10

Page 11: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

destroy this good bacteria, especially antibiotics, allows the Candida yeast to flourish and cause a yeast overgrowth.

The yeast in your body cannot build up a resistance to the good bacteria and, for this reason, the correct balance of beneficial bacteria to Candida must be maintained.

Those of you who are most at risk to develop a yeast infection are those with weakened immune systems.

Weakened immune systems can result from the use of antibiotics or steroids, cancer, AIDS/HIV, or taking a course of chemotherapy.

Also,if you have auto immune disorders such as fibromyalgia or lupus, you are at risk.

Here are some situations that may make you at risk for developing a yeast infection:

• Use of steroids• Certain vitamin deficiencies• Drinking a lot of alcohol, especially beer and wine• Stress and anxiety• Toxicity in the bloodstream• Hormonal shifts and imbalances• Poor diet

DiabetesIf you have diabetes , you are more susceptible to yeast infections. The elevated sugar in your urine is the culprit and can especially cause problems in the genital area.

AntibioticsAnother main cause of a yeast infection is prolonged or repeated antibiotic use. Your body has a normal supply of beneficial bacteria, and antibiotics can kill them off, allowing the normally-occurring Candida yeast to take over.

Nonoxynol-9I've read reports that condoms with Nonoxynol-9 added to the lubricant can contribute to anal yeast infections. The solution is to use a condom that doesn't have a spermicidal lubricant.

11 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

Page 12: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

What are the Symptoms of a Male Yeast Infection?

Your symptoms aren't any different than the symptoms that women and children experience. However, they can vary from male to male and even be different from one day to the next.

Your general health and genetic makeup also contribute to how your symptoms change, and why there are so many different symptoms.

Here are some general symptoms:

• A burning sensation• Itching that doesn't ease up• Red rash around the head and tip of the penis• Discharge that can be smelly• Sometimes, small spots, blistering• Painful Sex or dysfunctional Sex• Impossible or difficult to retract the foreskin• Pain on urination• Red bumps similar to genital herpes• Rectal itching• Arthritis• Depression• Chronic rashes• Tiredness or fatigue• Poor memory

Some more specific symptoms include:

Anal ThrushIn its earliest stage, anal thrush begins as a mild itching annoyance, which is worse when in bed. It can become so severe you can think of nothing else.

Since you tend to sweat in the anus area and it's warm and airless, the itching becomes even more intense.

Do Men Get Yeast Infections? 12

Page 13: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

Athlete's FootThe most irritating symptom of athlete's foot is itchy feet.

However, if you don't treat it, the skin may start to flake or become cracked and painful.

When this happens, you are subject to a bacterial infection, which can give off an unpleasant smell.

Jock ItchThe symptoms you may experience with jock itch are similar to anal thrush and any of the conditions on the general list.

Again, the culprit is a warm, moist environment.

Oral ThrushThe symptoms of oral thrush include white patches on your tongue, the sides of the mouth, and the lips.

Penile Yeast InfectionIn the case of penile yeast infection, you may not have any symptoms at all.

The most usual symptoms include soreness and irritation of your penis’ head, which can cause intense itchiness.

You may notice a reddish rash and small blisters on the head of your penis and, in some cases, a white discharge may appear.

13 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

NOTE: Anal thrush, athlete's foot, and jock itch all thrive in warm, moist environments.

Since you tend to sweat more than women, you are more susceptible to these forms of yeast infection.

What Methods are Used to Treat a Male Yeast Infection?

General Notes

First, some specific notes on the different treatments for the five most common yeast infections you can have:

Anal ThrushWitch Hazel, an old-fashioned remedy available from pharmacies, is helpful. Pat some onto the affected area a couple of times a day with a cotton pad but, if the problem gets worse instead of better, stop the treatment.

When you scratch to relieve the itching, you can easily damage the delicate skin which makes the yeast, with their little hooks, better able to “latch on” and make the situation worse.

An alternative to scratching is to pinch the skin near your anus between your thumb and forefinger – through your clothes. This won't cause as much damage as scratching.

Athlete's FootYou can easily treat jock itch and athlete's foot with anti-fungal sprays or creams found at your pharmacy or chemist. Treated effectively, it won't last too long.

Do Men Get Yeast Infections? 14

NOTE: Creams are usually recommended to treat anal thrush but may compound the problem because they keep the area damp.

The best course of action is to keep your genital area as dry as possible.

Page 15: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

Jock ItchJock itch can usually be controlled by using anti-fungal creams and sprays that you can buy OTC (over the counter) without a prescription.

Oral ThrushAs a rule, oral thrush requires a liquid prescription drug, such as Nystatin, that you swish around in your mouth several times a day. See also Neem Tree Oil

Penile Yeast InfectionTea tree oil (melaleuca alternifolia) has natural anti-fungal activity and works by helping to restore the natural balance of your bacteria and fungi. You can add several drops of Tea tree oil to your bath.

You can also dilute it and apply it to the affected area.

Natural Remedies

You will find additional solutions to the five yeast infections list above throughout this section and in the OTC/Prescription drug section.

AcidophilusAcidophilus dietary supplements , or foods with active bacterial cultures like yogurt or buttermilk, can be eaten and often will cure a mild yeast infection.

A natural cure that also works well is washing your genitals with yogurt diluted in water and leaving the yogurt on the

General advice: If you are prone to scratch at night when you are asleep, you may have to resort to wearing cotton gloves.

You can also ask your health care provider for a prescription of antihistamine for temporary relief .

skin overnight.

This should be applied with clean hands or sterile gauze and clean white underwear should be worn to prevent linen stains.

This treatment works because the good bacteria in the yogurt fights the Candida albicans yeast .

Berberine Berberine is a plant alkaloid isolated from the roots and bark of plants such as Oregon Grape (Berberis aquifolium), Barbarry (Berberis vulgaris), Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) and Yerba mansa (Anemopsis californica), among others.

It functions as an antimicrobial against bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and is especially effective for treating yeast infections.

It's available in pills, tablets, or capsules and the recommended dosage for a yeast infection is 250 to 500 mg of the herbal extract.

Black Walnut For centuries, Black Walnut has been a favorite treatment for yeast infections due to it's ability to oxygenate the blood, as well as its anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, and antiseptic properties.

It speeds up the removal of toxins in your system and, at the same time, helps keep your blood glucose level balanced.

You can find Black Walnut in pill, tablet, or capsule form.

Cayenne PepperThe use of cayenne pepper (Capsicum) dates back to ancient times. The fruit, or pepper, is the same pepper that gives chili its kick.

Cayenne pepper treatments work topically as creams or internally as tinctures.

The cream is especially effective when used for anal thrush or a penile yeast infection.

CinnamonCinnamon is a common treatment for yeast infections. It contains some important terpenoids, which are potent anti-fungal compounds.

You can drink it as a tea by putting a half-teaspoon of cinnamon into a cup of boiling water. If you prefer to use the essential oil, only use a few drops at a time.

You can also find Cinnamon in capsules.

If you buy powdered Cinnamon, try to find the Vietnamese Extra Fancy Cinnamon. It is the most potent.

Cloves Cloves have powerful anti-fungal properties and are used to treat fungal infections. They also have antibacterial,

antiviral, and antiseptic properties.

You can buy clove extract, dilute it with water, and drink it a few times a day to help fight a yeast overgrowth.

Coconut Oil Coconut oil isn't an herb, but is it used to control a Candida overgrowth. The oil contains caprylic acid which is known to effectively inhibit a Candida overgrowth.

The caprylic acid is available in enterically coated tablets that are slow release and should be taken with meals.

Echinacea Fresh juice from Echinacea purpurea can also treat Candidiasis by boosting your immune system.

The recommended dosage when you have a yeast infection is to take 2 to 4 ml of the extract daily. However, if you are insulin sensitive, you should not take Echinacea.

Flaxseed OilFlaxseed oil is an excellent source of essential fatty acids, which optimize the functioning of your immune system.

It is common for the treatment of Candidiasis and is a natural anti-fungal agent.

Any home treatment program you implement should include foods and natural foods that are high in Omega-3 Fatty Acids. See Shark Liver Oil also.

GarlicGarlic is one of the strongest foods you can take to kill off the Candida albicans yeast. It is extremely powerful.

The reason? It can reduce inflammation and it has strong anti-fungal properties

Eat 2 – 3 fresh cloves of garlic each day, if you can. Even if you cook it, it will still help you immensely.

Do Men Get Yeast Infections? 18

Page 19: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

Garlic pills are another way to get garlic into your system each day and you can get them odor free and time-released.

Here's a great drink that combines garlic and lemon:

Gentian Violet Oil If you dab Gentian Violet Oil - which is both anti-fungal and antiseptic - on an infected external area, it can quickly relieve your yeast infection symptoms .

This is an inky oil that will stain your skin temporarily, but washes off in 2 -3 days. If you get it on your clothes, it will wash out with a little bleach added to the wash water.

Grapefruit Seed Extract Grapefruit Seed Extract helps eliminate the excess yeast in your system and inhibits its continued growth in your gastrointestinal tract.

It also raises the pH level of your body, making a more alkaline environment which is better for your health.

Studies also show that the constituents of the seed extract

Garlic-Lemon Drink

Put 2 - 3 large garlic cloves in a blender with the juice of two lemons, and a little honey.

Add a pint of water.

Blend together and drink.

Tastes like spicy lemonade and is really quite good.

The garlic is a powerful blood cleanser and natural antibiotic and the lemon is a kidney flush.

and pulp are bioflavonoids, ascorbic acid, tocopherols, citric acid, sterols, and minerals.

Make sure you buy the pure GSE, not the kind that is processed with solvents!

Lactoferrin Lactoferrin is part of your immune system and has anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties.

Candida albicans was found to be inhibited because of unique ability of lactoferrin to stimulate phagocytes that eat Candida yeast .

Lactoferrin can be found as a health food supplement in the form of tablets, capsules, and powders.

Neem Tree Leaves Another remedy to fight your yeast infection is the leaves of the Neem tree, which can help cleanse your system of toxins while normalizing intestinal bacteria.

The seeds, bark and leaves contain compounds with proven antiseptic, antiviral, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer and anti-fungal uses.

Neem leaves are also reported to remove toxins, purify blood and prevent damage caused by free radicals in the body by neutralizing them.

Essential oil from fresh leaves has a mild fungicidal action.

Do Men Get Yeast Infections? 20

NOTE: The prescription drug fluconazole is a widely used drug in the fight against yeast infections and, as such, a strain of the Candida albicans yeast has developed that is resistant to fluconazole.

However, when you combine lactoferrin and fluconazole, the combination can fight against even the resistant strains of Candida albicans.

Page 21: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

Here's one person’s experience using neem leaf tea for oral thrush:

Oregano Oil The volatile oil from oregano has shown anti-fungal activities which can help regulate the growth of the fungus, Candida albicans. The oregano oil contains oleic acid, carvacrol, and thymol all of which are anti-fungal.

The oregano oil is normally taken orally as an enterically coated tablet or can also be applied directly, using the essential oil diluted, to the affected area.

You have to be careful with good oregano oil because it can be extremely potent, so make sure you dilute it well. You can also buy oregano leaves and make a tea.

Shark Liver Oil One of the most popular choices in dealing with Candidiasis is the addition of shark liver oil to your diet. It strengthens and rejuvenates the health of your immune system, which is your best ally in the fight against yeast infection.

Raw shark liver oil that is minimally processed contains life-enhancing compounds including Alkylglycerol (or Alkoxyglycerol, AKG, Glycerol Ether Lipid), Squalene, and natural trace elements. Research suggests that the

21 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

I tried it when I had a bad bout of oral thrush, and it worked wonders.

I made a cup of strong tea from fresh leaves (10 big leaves in half liter water).

I rinsed my mouth with it all day. Held it in the mouth for a few minutes before swallowing, and I did it every 10 minutes or so until the cup was empty.

Cleaned it up in 18 hours. I was very impressed.

Page 22: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

alkylglyerols in shark liver oil may prime the immune system

Tea Tree Oil Tea tree oil is another herbal remedy that has shown good anti-fungal properties, as well as anti-candida properties.

Tea tree oil works best when rubbed into the skin in areas where the Candidiasis infection is present, like the feet or anywhere where a Candida-caused outbreak of psoriasis has occurred.

Studies showed that the tea tree oil weakened the cell walls of the yeast, making it easier for the body's immune system to kill off.

Witch HazelWitch hazel is a bush or small tree. The leaves and bark have antiseptic properties that are helpful in treating your yeast infection.

It contains tannic acid, which helps keep your skin dry, as well as carvacol and eugenol – oils that have strong antimicrobial properties.

It is able to kill both the yeast and bacteria on your skin, such as with athlete's foot, making it a good treatment.

Witch hazel can be distilled and made into oils, ointments and extracts.

Witch hazel extract can be added to distilled water to make an astringent solution you can use as a rinse for oral thrush. However, swallowing it may cause stomach or intestinal irritation.

Witch hazel oils can be added to bath water, which is great if you have a skin infection, such as anal thrush, penile yeast infection, jock itch, or athlete's foot.

For quick relief of itchiness, witch hazel ointment can be added to compress and dabbed externally on your affected area.

Page 23: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

YogurtA very popular treatment for yeast infections is to spread some unsweetened plain yogurt, with active cultures, around the irritated areas.

The good bacteria found in the yogurt will help counter the bad bacteria causing your yest infection.

Other Natural Treatments

Bentonite Clay Bentonite Clay is often used with psyllim to absorb toxins and any other harmful substances in the body. Our bodies cannot absorb bentonite clay, but it does absorb toxins from your body. Bentonite should be in powder form and when you take it, you should drink it instantly after mixing, otherwise it can be hard to get down!

Digestive EnzymesCandida albicans has a shell called "chitin." When this shell is penetrated, the Candida albicans dies.

Sometimes, even strong anti-fungals have trouble getting through this shell. Digestive enzymes, however, contain cellulose and protease which are able to get break through and destroy the yeast cells.

Inside of a Banana Peel Dr. James Le Fanu has a column in the Daily Telegraph that acts as a forum for readers’ solutions to health problems.

Readers have reported that the inside of a banana peel can relieve itchy skin, including anal itching.

AntioxidantsAntioxidants are also effective in treating Candidiasis. More and more research is being conducted on how antioxidants are beneficial in treating a wide variety of illnesses.

Antioxidants destroy free radicals that roam in your body and are helpful in the elimination of toxins.

Here is a list of the top seven foods that are high in antioxidants:

• Fruits and Berries - cherry, blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, blueberry, bilberry/wild blueberry, black currant), pomegranate, grape, orange, plum, pineapple, kiwi fruit, grapefruit

• Vegetables - Kale, chili pepper, red cabbage, peppers, parsley, artichoke, Brussels sprouts, spinach, lemon, ginger, red beets

• Dried Fruit - Apricots, prunes, dates• Legumes - Broad beans, pinto beans, soybeans• Nuts and seeds - Pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, ground

nut or peanuts, sunflower seeds• Cereals - Barley, millet, oats, corn• Spices - cloves, cinnamon, oregano

SupplementsUsing supplements, maintaining proper vitamin levels, keeping to a healthy diet, and getting rid of fungi are ways in which you can treat your Candidiasis.

Here are some of the vitamins that should be taken as part of a regimen for treating your yeast infection (and preventing another one from returning):

• Vitamins A, C, E• Zinc• Iron• Glutamine• Selenium• Daily multi-vitamins

OTC and Prescription Treatments

Some General Notes on Treatment:

Treatment is as simple, usually, as an OTC anti-fungal cream. After about 5 to 7 days of treatment, your yeast infection should be gone.

Once you have symptoms, they need to be treated. This means that the root cause of the disease has to be found and eliminated. If not, the conditions will still be present and will flare up once again.

Most anti-fungal medications are available in creams, sprays, powders, solutions, or capsules. If OTC medications or natural treatments don't work, or the symptoms are severe, you must consult your health care provider and get a prescription.

How to Use Products Labeled for Women

You can visit your pharmacy or chemist and look for OTC medications for yeast infections or thrush, but you will probably not find any products labeled for male yeast infections.

However, there are many products used for relieving the symptoms of vaginal yeast infections – such as creams, ointments, vaginal suppositories, medication filled capsules for inserting into the vagina, etc.

The creams and ointments available OTC for female itching of the vulva and labia can be used just as effectively by you and other men.

Just apply the product to the affected areas as frequently as recommended by the package. These products can be very effective for relieving the itching and burning of surface tissue associated with a male yeast infection.

If you buy one of the cream-based products that comes with an applicator for inserting the cream into the vagina, simply apply the cream freely to the penis and, if there are signs that

25 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

Page 26: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

yeast is affecting the scrotum and other genital areas, apply the cream there as well.

These products are best used at bedtime and clean underwear should be worn to prevent the cream from getting onto the bed linens .

It is available both as a prescription and over-the-counter.

Fluconazole, is a broad spectrum drug, which means it will kill other species of Candida and some other fungi as well as Candida albicans. One problem is that allergies to fluconazole are common.

Fluconazole is usually taken orally, but some situations may respond better by intravenous administration.

Fluconazole works by preventing the fungus from reproducing, but it does not kill the fungus.

Itraconazole (triazole-based azole antifungal)Itraconazole works by slowing down the growth of the fungi that causes infection.

Although it is available orally or intravenously for severe infections, it is usually taken orally for a period of about three months. It tends to be somewhat expensive, also.

It has a broader spectrum of activity than fluconazole, but not as broad as voriconazole or posaconazole.

BRAND NAME:

One formulation is an over-the-counter shampoo which makes a good body wash for those with yeast-related skin problems, such as people with AIDS or those who have undergone chemotherapy.

There is also an oral formulation that can be used to treat Oral Thrush.

It prevents the growth of the fungi by prohibiting the production of membranes that surround the fungal cells. Ketoconazole has largely been replaced by fluconazole and intraconazole, which are less toxic, more effective, and can be used in lower doses with the same results.

Posaconazole (triazole-based azole antifungal)Posaconazole is used to prevent serious fungal infections in people with a weakened ability to fight infection, and is especially helpful for treating patients with severely weakened immune systems.

Posaconazole is also used to treat yeast infections of the mouth and throat, including yeast infections that could not be treated successfully with other medications.

Two studies published in the January 25, 2007 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine suggest that posaconazole may be superior to both fluconazole and itraconazole in the treatment of systemic/invasive yeast infections, but the side effects might be more serious.

How Can a Male Yeast Infection be PREVENTED?

This is a good questions. While the above treatments mainly take care of the SYMPTOMS you might have with a yeast infection, they don't necessarily address the underlying cause of your yeast infection.

You could have been exposed to someone, even just their clothing, who has a yeast infection, and this would be the root of the yeast infection that got passed on to you. When this happens, you can have a case of “contact” yeast infection without having a yeast overgrowth yourself.

Or, it could have been transmitted to you during a sexual encounter.

Of course, due to many of the causes presented elsewhere in this report, you could be the victim of a yeast overgrowth yourself due to a yeast intolerance, which is a complete topic in itself. If you want more information on this subject, please visit my blog at http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

The best thing to do, to prevent future flare-ups, is to follow the prevention methods outlined below, which includes following a yeast free diet for at least three weeks.

Diet

If you want to rid your body of a Candida albicans overgrowth, you will need to adopt a very specific diet for a few short weeks.

An elimination diet is the natural treatment when your body has produced too much yeast.

This diet will eliminate all foods that feed the "yeastie beasties" and cause them to multiply. Instead, they will be starved out.

33 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

Page 34: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

What Foods Cause a Yeast Infection? Here are some of the foods and food groups you must stop eating as part of your diet for candida:

1. Sugar is the favorite "fuel" for yeast. Candida albicans feed off of sugar, no matter which kind - high fructose corn syrup, maple syrup, white sugar, brown sugar, honey, molasses - all are favorites of Candida albicans.

When you put these products into your body, a feeding frenzy begins and the yeast multiply quickly. Read labels and don't eat anything that contains any of these products.

2. White refined flour and any food high in simple carbohydrates turn into sugar quickly and feed the yeast.

These products include all bread products, rolls, cookies, pastries, pretzels, etc.

3. Alcohol

Yeast + sugar = alcohol

When the Candida albicans yeast flourish, your body increases it's production of alcohol. As a result, there is a toxic by-product of alcohol, called acetaldehyde, that can be produced by the body.

Your liver, already overloaded in it's efforts to detoxify all the toxins the Candida albicans yeast releases each day, becomes over-stressed by the alcohol.

4. Foods that are made with vinegar, such as mayonnaise, salad dressing, BBQ Sauce, mustard, pickled foods.

5. Fermented foods such as sauerkraut and cider.

6. "Moldy" foods such as cheese, dried/smoked/pickled meats, cured meats such as bacon, mushrooms, PEANUTS, Pistachios, soy sauce, Miso, Tamari, tempeh, pre-packaged herbs, prepackaged teas, and canned tomatoes.

7. Avoid soft drinks like the plague, as well as high sugar drink mixes, fruit juices and the following fruits which contain concentrated sugar: dates, prunes, figs, citrus fruit, grapes and raisins, and especially dried fruit.

What Can I Eat?

Good question!

Here are some suggestions:

• Most vegetables, especially the dark, leafy green type• Any kind of beans• Beef, poultry, fresh/uncured pork• Fish and shellfish• Eggs• Whole grains - barley, millet, couscous, buckwheat,

brown rice• Whole grain oatmeal and pastas• Unprocessed seeds and nuts• Unrefined vegetable oils (the kind that you have to

refrigerate)•

How Long Must I Eat Like This?

Well, some people can start reintroducing the "forbidden" foods back into their diet in as short as three weeks, but an average of three to six months is probably more accurate.

When you do feel that most of the excess Candida albicans has been "starved" and left your system, introduce the foods you love the most slowly, one at a time, and pay attention to how they make you feel. If your symptoms begin to return, drop the offending food and return, briefly, to your diet plan.

your recipes yeast free.

ProbioticsProbiotics help manage your body's bacteria levels.

Probiotics are found in yogurt made with live cultures, and also sold as supplements in many health and specialty food stores.

Acidophilus and Bifidus are two of the most common varieties of probiotics available.

This is an effective natural remedy because probiotics supply your body with healthy, beneficial bacteria.

Using probiotics with a proper diet and anti-fungal agents can help the body maintain the proper balance of good bacteria.

HygieneGood hygiene - frequent baths as well a routine change of underwear, especially during the summer heat , after strenuous exerce, or physical activities.

If you are active, participate in sports, or work in a warm, damp environment, you are more susceptible to such yeast infections as athlete's foot.

It is important to check your feet regularly because athlete's foot is actually quite common.

It can be picked up easily, for instance, by walking through a communal shower or changing room at the swimming pool, gym, or sports hall.

Do Men Get Yeast Infections? 36

NOTE: For Anal Thrush it's also wise to avoid foods that cause excessive gas, or flatulence.

Page 37: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

In fact, any place where people walk barefoot can be a source of infection.

Wearing sweaty socks and sneakers can also contribute to the problem.

Don't make the mistake of leaving your athlete's foot untreated because, without proper treatment, it is not likely to go away.

For conditions such as Anal Thrush, or Penile Yeast Infection, wear loose cotton underwear. Avoid tights and elastic ‘shapewear’ underwear, because they encourage sweating and moistness in the anal area. Avoid anything that keeps the buttocks close together.

Raising pH Level in the body - Hexagonal Water

Hexagonal water (alkaline water) is so much better for your overall health - your body needs to be alkaline instead of acidic.

When you have thrush or a yeast infection, your alkaline/acid balance can be over acidic. This is not good when your health is “normal” but when you are having a yeast intolerance problem, it’s especially bad.

When your body is in an alkaline state, it sets up hostile conditions for such things as cancer cells, molds, bacterias, viruses, and Candida albicans. It’s very important to keep your body alkalized.

If you want more information about hexagonal water and how it can improve your health, I wrote a blog post about it and you can read it here:

Total Wellness Cleanse

This is a program I ran across some time ago and it is so beneficial for your whole body.

37 http://yeastfreedietsuccess.com

Page 38: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

It's a two-phase program with full support and guidance. The first Phase is the detox phase, and the second phase helps you with the transition to the 8-week post-cleanse meal plan.

I can't stress enough how much you will benefit by this cleanse. But, I don't want to go into too much detail in this Report, so click here and you can read my review of this product:

THE TOTAL WELLNESS CLEANSE

Safe Sex

If you have sex with someone who has a yeast infection, the odds are good that you will contract it also, as it's highly contagious.

The problems begin if you don't both get treated at the same time and refrain from sex until the yeast infection is cleared up.

If you don't, you can pass the infection back and forth for months and never understand why it doesn't go away.

The type of yeast infection you will get is a penile yeast infection and they aren't fun if the symptoms show up.

However, sometimes you won't even get symptoms with a penile yeast infection even though you are just as contagious as some of the poor guys who do exhibit the terrible symptoms.

Do a Google search for images, “penile yeast infection” and you will see what I'm talking about.

I guess what I mean here by “safe sex” is to use a condom if you suspect that your partner has a yeast infection, but don't use one that has a lubricant that contains Nonoxynol-9 as this can cause vaginal and anal yeast infections as well.

Page 39: Do Men Get Yeast Infections

ConclusionOne of the most popular home remedies is to cleanse your body of excessive yeast by following a Yeast Free Diet.

Although over the counter or prescription drugs may offer a quick “cure” for your yeast infection symptoms, they don't address the factors that contributed to the problem.

Poor eating habits, overuse of antibiotics, and unhealthy habits like excessive drinking and smoking can all contribute to Candida albicans infections.

Medication intended for one-time use can't provide a long-term solution to this recurrent condition.

Combine the natural treatment you used for getting rid of Candidiasis with a proper diet, good hygienic practices, safe sex, and carefully choosing what you wear, and you will soon find that yeast infections will be nothing more than a bad memory.

All of these tips, if done properly, can help control yeast infections and Candidiasis.

However, unless you want to chronically suffer from a yeast infection for the rest of your life, you have to learn how to tackle this bacteria and eliminate it from the source.
