This year's event took place on28 July, in George, and formed part of the Vodacom George Cheese Festival. Starting and finishing at the 4 Brothers Potato Warehouse, there were nearly 400 runners who enthusiastically lined up for either the 21,1 km, 10 km or 5 km fun runs. The route was made up of flat and easy going earth roads that led runners through lush fields, between farms and past curious cows, cheering locals and the most incredible scenery imaginable.

After crossing the finishing line, and having worked up an appetite, all runners were treated to pancakes, traditional bazaar pudding and homemade foods before moving on to the annual Cheese Festival at Outeniqua Primary School.

This year the three-day festival was attended by 8,500 visitors from all around the country. Guests had the opportunity to watch interactive pairing demonstrations by some of South Africa's top cheese judges and wine masters, visit 75 different cheese, wine and food exhibitors, and also indulge in olives, goat milk products, pestos, preserves and other tasty goodies.
