DNS Entrepre neurship Center - ISSUE NO.2 | 2017 In pursuit, of DNS-EC goal to outreach to the youth and work on building their skills in all aspects of the domain name industry, the center conduct- ed two workshops “DNS Operations & DNSSEC” directed towards Egyp- tian universities’ stu- dents. The first workshop was conducted at the In- formation Technology Institute (ITI). Train- ees were all Computer Science students com- ing from the universi- ties of Fayoum, Helwan and Ain Shams. After the course, all stu- dents were invited to attend a Big Data ses- sion hosted by ITI. All trainees expressed their interest in par- ticipating in future courses. Par- ticipants were mainly research assistances at the university. professional network engineers, to foster and train them on how to manage and regulate the Internet Domain Name Systems (DNS) and its Security (DNSSEC) at their respective universities.

The training was held at EUN premises from 19-22 February with 24 trainees from the uni-versities of Damietta, South Valley, Cairo, Al-Minia, Aswan, Tanta, El-Sadat, El-Menofia, Al-Fayoum, Damanhour, Helwan, Al-Zagazig, and Port Said. The work-shop was broadcasted through a video con-ferencing service to their colleagues at the universities of Assi-ut, Mansoura, Helwan, Beni-Suef and Kafr El-Sheikh.

DNS-EC conducted a do-main name introductory seminar at the univer-sity of Science & Tech-nology at Zewail city. The introductory ses-sion is the beginning of a complete training program at Zewail Uni-versity.

The program is expect-ed to introduce the trainees to the domain name industry, future and trends, followed by case studies and ex-amples of successful business models. DNS-EC instructors and poten-

DNS-EC was present at the 20th edition of Cairo ICT, one of the leading technology events in Africa and the Middle East. The conference was a good opportunity to talk to specialized attendees and regular visitors about the center and its activities. The center attracted young technical visitors, who were interested in knowing more about DNS-EC activities and how to join its workshops.
