2. Power supply

● Before supplying the power, check that the indication of power

supply/specification for the instrument and the power going to supply

should be the same. If they are not equal, contact us.

If you use the instrument without checking them, it may cause a

damage in the instrument or electric shock to the operator.

Warning ● In order to prevent from a damage to the instrument and electric

shock to the operator, be sure to check that power supply is off when

installing each cable.

● Earth wire should be grounded securely. When earth wire is not

connected, it may cause a malfunction of the instrument or electric

shock to the operator.

3. Application Notes

Warning ● Before using a new instrument or exchanging the strain gage applied

transducer for a new one, be sure to make calibration.

If calibration shall not be made, correct measured results may not be

obtained nor which may cause malfunction in the instrument and

there may exist damage in peripheral equipments.

Besides, even though calibration has been made, there may occur the

similar case when the result is not correct, so make calibration again.

Warning ● In case of using the instrument, check that the connections are

executed properly. If not connected properly, correct measured result

will not be obtained, nor it may cause malfunctions of the instrument,

damage to the peripheral equipments or even more serious accident.

Warning ● When change of setting is made carelessly on the instrument during

measurement, it may cause malfunction in the instrument and also

possibilities of damage in peripheral instruments.

Warning ● Do not shock the instrument such as throwing something on it.

It may cause the damage to the case and even have the possibility of

damage to the instrument in resisting to environment.

Warning ● Do not push the panel sheet on the instrument with unnecessary

strong force nor push it with sharp edge object such as driver

It may cause a damage to the case or panel sheet and even have the

possibility of damage to the instrument in resisting to environment or

operational performance.

Warning ● Do not remove the cover of the case and panel sheet, nor destroy the

instrument. They may cause possibilities of damage to the instrument

in resisting to environment or operational performance.

1 General

・The instrument is a digital moment limitter for a Movable type of crane and a crane.

・Suspending load can be detected with the load cell and also jib angle (Working radius) can

be detected with the Angle detector attached, then these signals can be computed through

the micro computer.

・The processed data shall be output as alarm signals.

1−1 Features

Main features of the instrument are as follows:

(1) The following changes can be made for crane particulars.

・Load cell: 1~3

・Moment: 1~30

・Jib: 1~30

・Range : 1~30 (Jib Luffing method: Change of compensation data will be 1~12.)

(2) Themoment curve can be registeredwith 15 points of optional plots (Working radius/Load value)

other than with the COS curve. However, they are the following changes.

・Moment: 1~6

・Jib: 1~5

(3) The load calibration can be compensated with the non−linearity of tension of Jib Luffing by exe-

cuting teaching with the actual instrument.

(4) By changing the display times and digital filter, you can hold the ratio of load variation due to

vibration and so on.

Warning ● The sensor that can be connected with the instrument is limited

to the strain gage applied load cell and the angle detector attached

with the instrument.

Warning ●Depending on the final No. of P/N of instrument, the movable type

crane, or the crane which is applied shall have some limitation.

Make use of it after checking its specification or like that fully.

calibration.

・When newly purchased.

・Exchanging load cell(s) or angle detector(s)

・Periodical inspection

・When repair and exchange is required.

・After clearing the memory

If calibration is not made, correct measured results may not be ob-

tained, or it may cause malfunction to the instrument and it may

damage to the peripheral equipment.

●Be sure to check the wirings before making calibration.

●The calibration should be made according to the instruction of this

manual.

●The calibration should bemadewhen there is no load applied on the

started from 27°,then the passing points will become 30°and 35°

and the data above 30°will become effective. When you want the

data below 30°,you have to make teaching by lowering the jib below

25°forcedly.

(EX.2)For teaching on the special local area, if you want to acquire

the laying data of 50°to 45°, start from vicinity of 51°and finish in

the vicinity of 44°, since the jig has to pass through 50°and 45°.

In order to correspond the limit of overload to various kinds of instruments, the instrument de-

pends on the external Personal computer (Hereinafter, PC) for its setting of particulars of crane

and some part of calculation. And their results of controlled data shall be loaded to the instru-

ment through RS−232C communication and then make the instrument operated.

Moreover, the particulars that can be loaded to the instrument shall be limited to one (1) ma-

chine only. (In the case of new load, it’ll become overwriting mode.)

8−2 Functions of Function data

Now,we’ll show theFunctions that canbe setwith the registrationmethoddescribed in the item

8−1, as follows:

Except for these Functions, the registrationmethodmight have some difference, so please refer

to the item 8−3 and after.

・F01 Selection of display for minus (−) load

(The minus sign will not light.)

2=Fixed absolute value display

(The minus sign will not light.

・F02 Changeover of Moment No.

Initial value =1 1 to 15

・When the external input is existed already (except for code 0), it’s not possible

to display the selectedvaluewith the external input nor to change the valuewith

the Function mode.

・If you select theNo. that are not registered for the particulars, then theERROR

display shall be shown.

・F03 Changeover of Jib No.

Initial value =1 1 to 15

・When the external input is existed already (except for code 0), it’s not possible

to display the selectedvaluewith the external input nor to change the valuewith

the Function shown.

and/or damage.

●Be sure tomake the connection after the power supply is set to OFF.

・The terminal board on the rear side of the instrument is made of resin, so never fall it down nor

give strong shock on it.

・The clamping torque for terminal screw on the terminal board is about 120・Ncmatmaximum.

・The solderless terminal that suits the terminal board of the instrument is as shown in the

table as below.

・The cable connected with the main body should be separated from the noise source such asI/O for control, power supply line as possible.

・The Conduit wiring should be the type for exclusive use. Avoid sharing it with other lines.

Measure the resistance value with the digital tester between the shield wires and signal wires

individually. It’s normal when the condition of over−ranged might be appeared, but if there

may have displayed some measured values (some M Ω), it’s judged as shortage of insulation.

In due course, consider the exchange of load cell, and so on.

Warning ●For the measurement of insulation, never use a megger.

Because, the load cell will be destroyed.
