Disaster can strike when we are least prepared, and we least

expect it.

On 24th August 2012, DLF IT SEZ, Chennai organized a mega

mock drill involving employees to demonstrate a real time

experience of a bomb blast and a fire accident with a rescue

operation planned by DLF.

There was an active participation of the Tamilnadu Commando

Force, the Tamilnadu Police, the Bomb Squad and the Fire &

Rescue Teams. Also, the top management and employees of the

occupants at DLF IT SEZ, Chennai were a part of the

Emergency Rescue Team.

It was a wonderful joint effort, and an event which helped

everyone to understand the seriousness of a disaster situation,

and how to react correctly to it.

Life and property can be saved when we are alert and well trained,

and the drill helped immensely in understanding and be prepared

for this.

So, instead of slogans and posters, we have built in safety

into every area of our operation, every day, so that you can

be safe. We want to prevent any form of mishap or tragedy,

and control and disaster before it gets out of hand. Here are

some of the highlights of the Safety Initiatives at DLF IT

SEZ, Chennai:

1. The first developer in India to procure a 60 mtrs high

skylift for emergencies

2. The skylift can carry a load of 400 kg and rotate at a 360

degree angle

3. The skylift has a reach of up to 20 floors plus an

additional 35 meter height can be reached by its water jet

4. The staff attached to the skylift are trained by the original

manufacturer and the machines are periodically

maintained

5. The Fire Station has fire tenders with water bowsers with

capacity of 18 kilolitres of water

6. There are Thermal Imaging Cameras in the buildings

7. DLF has a fully functional DMDRP - Disaster

Management & Disaster Recovery Room- in the campus

8. The campus is equipped with sufficient Breathing

Apparatus (BA) systems

9. Smoke generators are used for mock fire drills

10. Clean agent gas flooding system on each electrical panel

11. 2 tier fire sprinkler systems at all tenant areas

12. Firemen Proximity Suits & Fire Entry Suits

13. Exclusive Training Centres for fire-fighting for tenants &

3rd party fire safety audit

DLF IT SEZ - at the epicentre of new emerging city centre at Guindy

DLF IT SEZ, Chennai is at the epicenter of a growing

modern city.

Just a fifteen minutes comfortable drive from the airport, you

enter one of the city's most important campuses, “DLF IT

SEZ, Chennai”.

Two new metro corridors are being developed and the only

interchange for all four rail links within the city being positioned

close to DLF, would provide tremendous connectivity to the

project and would cater to employees commuting from all parts

of the city.

Access from North and West Chennai has become easier after

the opening of the elevated bypass connecting Tambaram to

Ambattur in 2010. This is a proposition which other IT pockets

of the city do not have.

The new mono rail corridor, set to be commissioned in the

near future, will pass along Mount-Poonamalee and the

station planned in front of the DLF IT SEZ, Chennai

facility will add to the connectivity as well as convenience.

This is a modern city epicenter. An interstate bus terminus,

class hospitals, the international airport, the merging of the

apartments are making an appearance on the corridor from DLF

to the Bangalore Highway. It looks like this is set to become a

started with the completion of the Kathipara Grade separator

and the elevated bypass and are progressing quickly towards the

completion of the metro and mono rail, the Porur flyover and

the bus terminus.
