John P. Paone Jr.Mr. Paone, a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney, is a
founder and senior partner of the firm. With over 30
years of experience in family law, child custody and
divorce, Mr. Paone has worked with hundreds of
families, has leadership roles in a variety of professional
organizations and has won many awards through the
legal profession.
Mr. Paone is a Diplomate of the American College of
Family Trial Attorneys. The College is composed of the
top 100 divorce attorneys in the United States.
The New Jersey Supreme Court has appointed Mr. Paone over the years to committees
relating to the practice of divorce and family law. Locally, he is a member of the
Monmouth, Middlesex and New Jersey bar associations. He is a Past President of the
Middlesex County Bar Association and the Past President of the American Academy of
Matrimonal Lawyers New Jersey Chapter. He serves by appointment of the New Jersey
Supreme Court as a member of the Supreme Court Special Committee on Attorney
Ethics and Admissions. He is a past Chair of the Supreme Court Board on Attorney
Certification and a past member of the Supreme Court Board on Continuing Legal
Education.
Nationally, Mr. Paone is a member of the American Bar Association, Family Law section.
Mr. Paone has received many accolades throughout his distinguished career in law,
including: The International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award for Outstanding Ability in
Courtroom Advocacy, the Middlesex County Bar Association Family Lawyer of the Year,
the New Jersey State Bar Association Distinguished Legislative Service Award, the
New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section 2002 Tischler Award, the
Middlesex County Bar Association Family Law Section 2008 Schoifet Award and the
2010 Distinguished Service Award, New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal
Education.
Mr. Paone has been selected by Best Laywers® as a 2015 Family Law Lawyer of the
Year. He was also elected to Digital Press Int. as “One of the Top 10 Matrimonial
Attorneys in Central New Jersey.” He was also selected by N.J. Monthly as one of “The
Top 10 Super Lawyers of New Jersey.” Mr. Paone has also served as Chair of the Ad
Hoc Committee on Mandatory Continuing Legal Education and was the 1995-96 Chair
of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section.
In May 2012, the New Jersey State Bar Association appointed Mr. Paone as a
member of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee. The
Committee evaluates every candidate being considered by the governor as
possible nominees for judicial appointment or reappointment to the Supreme Court
and Superior Court, and for appointment or reappointment to the position of county
prosecutor.
Mr. Paone is a graduate of American University, Washington College of Law, where
he was Articles Editor of the Law Review.
Robert M. ZaleskiA partner of the firm, Mr. Zaleski has been practicing law since 1988.
His expertise is in child custody and divorce issues, as well as divorce
mediation. Mr. Zaleski is certified by the Supreme Court as a
Matrimonial Law Attorney and previously served on the Middlesex
County Assignment Judge’s Family Lawyers’ Committee. He is also a
member of the Family Law Legal Clinic, Women Helping Women
program. He appears as a guest commentator on the television
program Law on the Line. Mr. Zaleski is active in the Somerset County,
Middlesex County and New Jersey State (Member, Family Law
Section) bar associations. He served as a member of the Supreme
Court of New Jersey District VIII Ethics Committee.
He has received numerous awards for his service to clients, including
the Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award and designation as a “New
Jersey Super Lawyer.” Mr. Zaleski earned his law degree from Seton
Hall University.
Megan S. MurrayA partner at Paone, Zaleski, & Murray, Ms. Murray
focuses her practice in family law, child custody and
divorce. Ms. Murray received the 2013 Young Attorney of
the Year Award for Middlesex County. She also received
the 2012 Martin Goldin Award for excellence in the
practice of family law. She is Co-Chair of the Domestic
Violence Legislative Committee of the Family Law
Executive Committee. She is also an associate
managing editor for New Jersey Family Lawyer and
served as co-chair of the Young Lawyers Subcommittee
of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar
Association.
Ms. Murray is a past Chair of the Monmouth County Bar Association’s Family Law Committee. Ms. Murray previously
served as a managing editor for Dictum Magazine, the newsletter for the New Jersey State Bar Association Young
Lawyers Division. Ms. Murray was just named a 2015 New Leader of the Bar by the New Jersey Law Journal.
Ms. Murray has authored numerous articles and has been featured in publications, including the New Jersey Family
Lawyer; the New Jersey Law Journal, the Middlesex County Advocate, and New Jersey Lawyer Magazine. She is also
co-author of the book, Divorce in New Jersey. Ms. Murray has also spoken in seminars across the state on issues
relating to family law, including appearances at the annual Family Law Hot Tips Seminar, the annual Family Law
Symposium, and the annual meeting of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Ms. Murray has also been a featured
guest on the WOBM radio program Inside the Law with Bob Novy.
Ms. Murray is a member of the Middlesex County, Monmouth County and New Jersey State (Member, Family Law
Section and Young Lawyers Division) bar associations. Before joining the firm, she served as clerk to the Hon. Judge
Paul Kapalko, Presiding Judge, Family Part, Monmouth County. Ms. Murray is certified by the Supreme Court of New
Jersey as a “Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney.”
Ms. Murray earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Boston University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned
her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University, where she served as editor of the law school newspaper.
Cassie Murphy

Murphy (formerly Ms. Ansello) focuses her practice
in family law, child custody and divorce.
Ms. Murphy is admitted to the bar in New Jersey,
New York, and the District of Columbia. She is a
voting member of the Family Law Executive
Committee of the New Jersey State Bar
Association, serving as co-chair of the Young
Lawyers Section for the 2016-2017 year.
As Associate Editor for New Jersey Family Lawyer, Ms. Murphy’s article, “Cohabitation and the
Amended Alimony Statute: Has the Economic Needs Standard Been Replaced?”
was published in the June 2016 edition. Additionally, her article, “An Illustration of Changed
Circumstances in the Shadow of Gonzalez-Posse,” was published in the April 2012 edition. She was
chosen as a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star for the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 years.
Ms. Murphy is a member of the Middlesex County, Monmouth County, and New Jersey State (Family
Law Section) Bar Associations. She presently serves on the Monmouth Bar Association Young Lawyers
Committee. Before joining the firm, she served as clerk to the Hon. Lisa Perez-Friscia, J.S.C., Family
Part, Bergen County, and practiced divorce and family law at the firm of Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland &
Perretti in Morristown.
Ms. Murphy earned her Bachelor’s Degree at University of Maryland, where she graduated summa cum
laude as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Juris Doctorate from University of Maryland
School of Law, cum laude, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Maryland Law Journal of
Race, Religion, Gender and Class.
An associate at Paone, Zaleski, & Murray, Mr. Paone focuses his practice on family law,
divorce and domestic violence. Mr. Paone is admitted to the bar of New Jersey. From
2013-2016, he served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey as a
member of the Specialized Crime Unit. As a Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Paone tried
cases before juries and appeared before Superior Courts throughout the state. Before
joining the Attorney General’s office, he served as a law student extern to the Hon. Barry
Albin of the New Jersey Supreme Court and upon graduating from law school he served
as a Chancery Division law clerk to the Hon. Glenn Berman and later the Hon. Ann

Associate Editor of the Law Review.
