Patients have direct access to a wide range of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists and ancillary services that allow treatment across the full range of neonatal diseases. The three neonatal intensive care teams in the NICCU provide complex, multidisciplinary treatment for more than 665 critically ill neonates per year. Challenging neonatal disease conditions are transported to CHLA from neonatal intensive care units throughout the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, Southern California and other states such as Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii. Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU)The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation NICCU is a Level IV, state-of-the-art, 58-bed unit. Patients have direct access to a wide range of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists and ancillary services that allow treatment across the full range of neonatal diseases. The three neonatal intensive care teams in the NICCU provide complex, multidisciplinary treatment for more than 665 critically ill neonates per year.

Challenging neonatal disease conditions are transported to CHLA from neonatal intensive care units throughout the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, Southern California and other states such as Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii. Complex cases transported to us include:
