About DAN CME Programs DAN’s CME staff strives to assist physicians and other health-care providers in obtaining new information that will lead to better quality and availability of care to the diving community worldwide. The internationally recognized resources of DAN and its affiliation with numerous institutions serving hyperbaric medicine provide cutting-edge medical and research information.

DAN has hosted the Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine course for the past 25 years. The staff strives to provide not only for the attendees’ educational needs during these courses, but for comfort as well. We understand that participation in a DAN CME program can sometimes be the “trip of the year.” We work to ensure that everything goes smoothly from the first information call to the final “See you next year.”

About DANDAN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit medical and research organization dedicated to the safety and health of recreational scuba divers.

Founded in 1980, DAN has served as a lifeline for the scuba industry by operating diving’s only 24-hour emergency hotline, a lifesaving service for injured divers. Additionally, DAN operates a diving medical information line, conducts vital diving medical research, and develops and provides a number of educational programs for everyone from beginning divers to medical professionals.

Program Objectives Through lectures, case presentations, printed support materials and both formal and informal discussion sessions with the faculty, it is anticipated that the attendees completing this course will be able to discuss and clinically apply facts relevant to scheduled topics. Upon completion, course participants should also benefit from broader understanding of current issues and increased familiarity with recent, relevant scientific literature in diving and hyperbaric medicine. Learning is reinforced by case reports from the Divers Alert Network (DAN) Medical Services Call Center (MSCC) quality assurance archives, examples from recent and ongoing diving research and from the personal experience of the faculty.

Who Should AttendThe six-day DAN continuing medical education (CME) course is designed primarily for physicians, emergency medical personnel, paramedics and nurses. Additionally, instructors, divemasters and other non-medical, dive-related personnel may find the course of value.

Dates and Locations DAN’s CME staff hosts the Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine Course twice a year, typically in the spring and fall. Locations vary, but every effort is made to choose destinations that offer luxury accommodations and world-class diving while keeping costs at an affordable level. In the past, courses have been held in St. Lucia, Cozumel, Bonaire, Turks and Caicos, Cayman Islands, Hawaii, Florida and many other locations.

Upon registration, you will have the option to choose an accommodation package with or without a dive package. We offer a variety of room types to accommodate each attendee’s individual needs.

For information on upcoming dates and locations visit www.DAN.org/cme or email us at [email protected]
