DESCRIPTION
How open source software like Opencast, Matterhorn, and MediaMosa can co-act.This 90-minute workshop will provide a practical introduction to the usage of technologies like Opencast Matterhorn and MediaMosa in the wider working context of educational practice. The presenters will discuss the differences between the work solutions, possible interaction of the two, and most important, what can be the most efficient setting in different educational situations. This Masterclass will focus more on the functional aspects desired by educational institutions rather than examining technological issues. The aim of this master class is to discuss with the audience whether there is a need for interoperability between these or other media production and distribution systems, in order to get most advantages from a combination of specific qualities these systems have to offer in an educational environment.TRANSCRIPT

• REST strictly refers to a collection of network architecture principles which outline how resources are defined and addressed.
• REST is a Client-server, Stateless, Cacheable and Layered protocol.
This reduces the complexity improves the effectiveness of performance tuningincreases the scalability of pure server components
