2 Electricity Supply $ GST CODE

Tariffs for the supply of electricity in Coober Pedy are set by the State Government. The State is able to do this because the electricity supply is deficit funded from State funds, ie. the revenue Council receives from electricity accounts does not cover the total operational cost of the undertaking. The difference is paid each year by the State Government.

For domestic premises, the tariffs are approximately 10% higher than Adelaide prices.

Commercial tariffs are substantially higher than Adelaide prices and there is a penalty built into the charges for excessive electricity consumption.
