On November 22 from 1-5 PM at the H-E-B Plus located at 281 & Evans, you can be a part of the Holiday Turkey Round Up by donating a frozen turkey. In December, they will be hosting the Holiday Box with Fox campaign where you can fill up a box for a family in need and ensure they have a holiday meal. Boxes maybe picked up and returned at any Wells Fargo location. For more information, go to www.safoodbank.org. Blue SantaProgram In 1976, the Blue Santa Program was created to help bring holiday cheer to families and children throughout San Antonio. Blue Santa is all about bringing hope and joy to families that struggle to make ends meet during the toughest time of the year. During the month of December, SAPD along with volunteers and our Blue Santa, work very hard to deliver all the needed items to these underprivileged children and their families. For more information please contact (210) 370-3944. Happy Holidays Dear Constituents, The holiday season is upon us! As we prepare to celebrate with family and friends, I wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy holiday season. We continue our hard work at City Hall, and our latest newsletter has updated information regarding the various projects and policies directly impacting you. In our last newsletter, we discussed the proposed Vista Ridge Pipeline project developed by SAWS. On Thursday, October 30th, the City Council unanimous- ly approved the pipeline project to diversify our city’s water supply, further lessening our dependence on the Edwards Aquifer. Along with efforts to build a water desalination plant, this new water pipeline will also provide the city a long-term, sustainable supply of water as we anticipate San Antonio to grow by over one million new residents over the next 25 years. In this newsletter, you will find several articles and photos from our dis- trict-wide 2014 National Night Out (NNO) celebrations. We will discuss the exciting, and much needed expansion of the Alicia Trevino Lopez Senior Cen- ter which opened in June, 2011. You will also find an article about my proposal to rename Old U.S. Hwy 90 to Enrique M. Barrera Pkwy. In addition, we high- light two wonderful organizations and their efforts to serve families during the holidays. And finally, we have information on our upcoming 6th Annual Dis- trict 6 Holiday Open House. I know you will find plenty of valuable information in this newsletter. Please feel free to contact my office anytime and I look forward to seeing you out in the community. Happy Holidays!!!
