wo Nike-fydac STY (S-46 and 47) wert lauched from LaunchCmplex 33/L-314 Whlte Sand Kissile Range (IML), New Mxicoon 24 january 1967.

Nike-lHydac ST (SR-46) was launm " at 1100 WT.

Nike-ifydac SWV (SR-47) was lwa4 at 1329 MST.

Meteorological data used in conjunction with theoreticalcalculations to predict rocket ispact were collected by theMeteorological Support Division, Atmospheric Sciences LaboraLo y(ASL), VSHt, Mew Mexico. The allistics Meteorologists for thisfiring were John K. Sharpe and SFC Glen E. ludson.

DISCUSSION

WIzd data for the first 216 feet above the surface were 4obt ained ix.os a system composed of 5 Aerovanes mounted on L200-foot toer and cabled to component wind indicators.

From 216 to 4000 feet above the surface, wind data wereobtained from T-9 RADAR observed balloon ascents.

Temperature, pressure and htmidity data, along with upperwind data from 4000 to 100,000 feet above the surface, wereobtained from strndard rasinsonde observations.

Mean wind compcment values in each-balliltic zone weredetermined from vertical cross sections by th. equal-area method.

Theoretical rocket performance values and ballistic factorsas a function of altitude were provided by ASL and are the basisTor data appearing in Tables VIII and IX.
