same as the owner of the business except I did not have to keep any financial records or make invoices to send

Career Profile Leadership and Chain of Command

The person who was in charge of the pharmacy and also the owner/manager is named Altaf Bhaidu and he is also the pharmacist of the clinic. He and his business partner are the ones that run the pharmacy together. He is also the one who hires the employees that wish to work at Pharmasave.

Company Purpose and Mission Statement

The purpose of the company is to provide customers with the best health care possible. There are doctors working in the back because Pharmasave is also a walk-in clinic and because of this, it makes it easier for the patients to simply visit the doctor, have the doctor prescribe them medication, and simply pick it up on the way out.

Contact Information Pharmasave #718 Address: 3-65 Braydon Blvd. Telephone: (905) 794-7585 Fax: (905) 794-7587 Website: www.pharmasave.com

Job Description and My Responsibilities Basically the job of the pharmacist is to fill in prescriptions that the doctor has prescribed to a patient and keep records of all patients for two years. Since the pharmacist had also been the owner of the pharmacy, he had twice the amount of work to do. He had been busy most of the time filling out documents and paperwork involved with patients and with the pharmacy. What I did was basically stand and watch as the pharmacist and pharmacy technician had been doing and ask them questions.

The Day Itself Overall, the day at the pharmacy was a fulfilling experience. I learned many things from how a pharmacy runs to the responsibilities of someone with multiple jobs. I was informed that, for someone wishing to go into the medical field, it would be good practice to be in a pharmaceutical environment because of similarities such as dealing with medicine and patients. Although I had been standing the whole day, I enjoyed my time at Pharmasave.

Overall Impression I believe this would be something I would enjoy doing as a full time job not only for the experience but for the welcoming environment. I have chosen a pharmacist as my back-up career plan because of theses reasons.

Recommendations I would recommend this job to anyone wishing to work a lot with others. Also, if you are looking for a job to help out your community, a pharmacist would be a good option.

For my job shadowing, I went to my interview my sister’s piano teacher: Elaine Luc. For most Piano teachers, the leadership and chain of command isn’t too difficult to figure out. The chain of command is usually between the teacher and student, where the teacher, of course, is in charge of the business; although, if you’re taking about a big teaching business, the manager of that business is the leader. For my sister however, the teacher is in charge. As the name implies, Elaine teaches other students on how to play the piano, teaching them various notes and keys, as they perform songs that rise in difficulty the better the student becomes. As the piano teacher, it is Elaine’s responsibility to make sure that all health and safety rules and regulations are taken into consideration, such as washing hands before and after using the piano and cleaning the piano regularly, and that all students are satisfied with the teaching method and environment. On the day of my job shadowing, I got to witness what it was like being a piano teacher and learned how difficult it was to teach others on how to play the piano. However, I also learned how fun playing the piano could be. During my day with the piano teacher, I got the chance to learn and play a song that the teacher usually taught her students- Lost Woods. The experience was truly a wonderful moment for me. In conclusion, my day with the piano teacher has taught me what a wonderful experience it is to teach and play piano to others. Although, having this job full time wouldn’t be something I’d like to do, having this job as a part time job would be good because of the job’s good pay and helping of others. If you like music and are interested in teaching others about it, then this job is highly recommended! If you would like to contact Elaine Luc about Piano lessons or have any questions about piano or piano teaching, you may phone her at (905)-345-4583 or email her at [email protected]! 4. Job description and your responsibility

The Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the

opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and

psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an

instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance

with Sevenstar Academy policies.

5. The Day Itself

My day consisted of visiting all my old teachers. I saw a classroom in progress as well as the

work that must be completed after class. I observed how the teachers conducted the students,

and how they enforced good behavior. I would say I enjoyed visiting the Responsibility

Room because I felt like it was an important factor to the school. It was where students that

were misbehaving in class were sent to be disciplined.

6. Overall impression

My overall impression was that this was a rewarding job and a key factor to the community.

The teachers seemed happy and safe. There are many pros to this job as after 5 years of

teaching you receive the summers off. However I was told that the first 5 years of teaching is

a very stressful period. Also I had a fun time, visiting my old teachers.

7. Recommendation

I would recommend this job to those who are patient and enjoy teaching. Also it is

important that they have extra time and are willing to put in the extra effort. Don’t go into

the career if you don’t love it.

5. The Day Itself.

What was your day was like? What did you enjoy? What did you detest? I went to Mount Royal around 8:00 am and came home around 3:00pm. My day went by very good. I helped out three different science classes to make cupcakes. It was very fun, watching the students making the “perfect” cup cake for their mothers. Most students put in a lot liquid which probably made their cupcake explode. The only thing I didn’t like that much was I was walking around a lot. My feet ended up hurting a lot by the end of the day.

6. Overall Impressions. Overall, would you like to do this job? Yes overall I did like this job; I never considered that being a teacher could be so much fun. I might consider becoming a teacher, if I don’t want to become a psychologist any more. If I have any time off again I would certainly go back just to help out.

7. Recommendations. Who would you recommend this job too? What type of career pathways relate to this job? I would recommend this job to anyone who doesn’t mind standing up in front of a group of children and teaching them. You have to very patient and you have to put up with a lot of bad behavior as well, but also you have to love children. The types of career pathways that relate to this job are public speaker, principal, day care owner, etc. The jobs that mostly relate to working with children, would relate to this job.

5. The Day Itself. What was your day was like? What did you enjoy? What did you detest?

I started work at 6 in the morning and I ended at 2 in the afternoon. It was a very long day and half way through the day I was tired. I couldn’t even stand anymore. I enjoyed throwing returned products in a huge compacter as well as re stocking shelves. The part that I hated the most was that I had to stand; I got tired half way through the day. The best part of my day was lunch time because there was Tim Horton’s right beside the store. While working at Canadian Tire I made a lot of new friends and enjoyed the overall experience.

6. Overall Impressions. Overall, would you like to do this job? I would preferably like to do this job because in a way it’s very fun and the pay there isn’t that bad. I’m planning on working there in the summer when I turn 16.

7. Recommendations. Who would you recommend this job too? What type of career pathways relate to this job? I would recommend this job to anyone who doesn’t mind standing up all day and getting up early. This job is more for people that want to get the work done. Career Profile: Nursing Leadership and Chain of Command My mom works on the fifth floor and is in charge of the floor. Next in charge is the floor manager, next in charge is the Director of Medicine, next in charge is Vice President, and next in charge is the Hospital Vice President. The responsibilities of an In Charge Nurse are to make schedules, and assign all nurses patients whom they will care for during their shift. If any nurse or patient has a concern or question they come to the In Charge Nurse. Also you are responsible for organizing how a patient is going to be discharged from the hospital. The Day Itself

My day started at 7:30 in the morning and ended at 3:30 in the afternoon. My day was boring because my mom sat at a table making schedules, answering phone calls, making phone calls also answering other staff member’s questions and concerns. I didn’t like sitting at a table all day and the paper work. The one thing I did enjoy was speaking to one of the patients. Overall Impression

To become an Incharge nurse can certainly be an option but it not my first. I would not like to do this profession due to many reasons. First of all, you are responsible for everything that happens on the floor. Also if anyone working on the floor needs help they come to you. Furthermore, this profession doesn’t interest me. As I was job shadowing my mom, I was bored and I wasn’t really fascinated by what she did. Lastly, I can’t stand seeing elderly people and the health problems they are facing. To conclude I don’t like to be in the hospital environment. Recommendation

I would recommend this to a person who has communication, teamwork and management skills. Also to a person who likes to take control and sit at a table.

4. Job Description and Your Responsibilities

In brief, describe what your responsibilities were, or the responsibilities of the

person you observed.

While I job shadowed Phys-Ed Teacher Ms. White my responsibility was to bring the

football equipment out to the field and help the girls with their football drills. Ms.White

had to instruct the girls and demonstrate how the plays worked and answer any

questions they had.

5. The Day Itself

What was your day was like? What did you enjoy? What did you detest?

The day went well. I learned the difference between a Middle School Teacher and High

School Teachers. I enjoyed asking Ms.White about her experiences and hearing stories

about her students. When students were doing there own things and ignoring the

teacher at times it annoyed me because it was disrespectful and frustrating to deal with.

6. Overall Impression

Overall, would you like to do this job?

Yes, I feel that I would like this job. It’s very relaxed and there’s not much planning

involved. Also it is very hands on and it’s very different from classroom teaching. Being

a Phys-Ed teacher does not seem like something I would get bored with.

7. Recommendation

Who would you recommend this job too? What type of career pathways relate to

this job?

I would recommend this job to someone who loves sports and enjoys being active

everyday. For any teaching job you need to acquire people skills, because you’re

working with student’s everyday and there needs to be good communication. People

who work better with hands on tasks are also good for this career. To enter this career

you should have a keen interest for it, or else you would come to work and hate it.

Career Profile: Educator By Raman Dhaliwal Leadership and Chain of Command All the schools are in charge by peel. The school in particular is in charge by the principal. After the principal the vice principal in charge. This is chosen by the Peel District School Board, people with more experiences and better qualities. The teachers are chosen by the Principal and the Vice-Principals. Company purpose and Mission Statement The business teaches kids the basics they need to survive or to get a good job in the future. It helps us with skills we need to be successful in the job we chose. In the school they always say working together to reach new heights. This is said so that when everyone works together they can get a better education and get better skills to help them in the future. Contact Information Address- 65 Mount Royal Circle

Phone Number- (905) 794-4733 E-mail- Not provided Job Description and Your Responsibilities The teacher I was job shadowing was a gym teacher. He had to teach the kids a different sport and get them physically fit so they can live a longer and healthier life. When I went there I had to help take out the equipment they used, I helped put things away and I also kept score for the classes that played baseball. With one of the classes I led it jog, and helped everyone get to the finish line in their fastest time. The Day Itself They day went by fast. I met a lot of different interesting kids and they were a lot of fun to be around. They were really small and very energetic. We had to lunch breaks and they were very short but they got me rested to be energetic for the next class. During the day I also had to go and help out another teacher. For her I just helped people cook and I took out and put things into the oven. The day was a lot of fun. Overall Impression Throughout my whole life I have wanted to become a teacher and this experience made me want it more. It was tiring but it was worth it. I knew I would be making a difference in their life, and that make me feel happy at the end of the day. Recommendations If I could change anything I would change how long the lunch breaks are because even though you get enough time to eat and rest up, it sometimes isn’t enough because the class before can ware you out, so its good to be ready to teach the other students.

Job description and your responsibilities

There are many responsibilities at Robert J Lee. Jessica Smith is responsible for establishing a report with the students. She is responsible for communicating with each student parents. The teacher is responsible for submitting attendance at the local site. She has to prepare lessons quizzes test a head of time and make sure the children now what and what not to do and for Miss Smith I think this is hard because she had a mixed class. Grade 4’s and 5’s and her class and Miss Smith are in charge of delivering milk to all kids before lunch starts. That is a huge responsibility; But Miss Smith easily handles all that and follows her schedule and gets through her day without any headaches.

Raman Thind

The day Itself

On May 6th I went to Robert J Lee to observe a grade 5 and 4 mixed class. The Day started at 8 15, after Oh Canada Miss Smith took attendance and got right into her lesson from 8 30 until 9 15 I helped Miss Smith teach her class fractions and I worked with a couple of students who did not understand fractions and they really appreciated me. From 9 15 until 10 15 I went with the same class to their next class which was music. In music many kids looked up to me and they were very friendly and they played me some songs with their recorder. From 10 15 to 10 30 they had their first recess and I went outside and played with a couple of students and they were explained to me what they want to become when they grow up. I spent most of my day helping out and for one day I believe I was a good role model and I’m happy that children looked up to me.

Overall Impression

I would love to become an elementary teacher because it was always my dream and when I went to Robert J lee to help Miss Smith I was really excited because I finally had the chance to work with children. Even though I rather work with a kindergarten class, teaching grade 5’s seemed really hard but Miss Smith sticks to her schedule she teaching a mixed class of grade 4’s and 5’s and she is able to leave a impact in their lives. When I graduate and get my B.E.D degree I would like to become a wonderful teacher just like Miss Smith. I enjoy working with children. I want to help them and get them prepared for their futures. I would like to leave a huge impact in their lives.

Recommendation

I would recommend this job to students who love to work with children and who are able to teach children what’s good and what’s bad. Anyone who is able to inspire students should be able to become a elementary teacher and help leave a good impact in their lives so that they can look up to you as a good mature role model.

Job Description and Responsibilities At Harley Davidson I did things like talk to people I have seen before and then I had to wait until a guy my mom knew and he was of the bike mechanics while the others were on tour with a truck load of bikes. He taught me a lot about bikes and how they work. He told me about things about line of work, how to budget my time if I want to become a mechanic and los of other things. At the mechanic shop part of the building I was helping out with the construction of bikes that were there for repair and some of the racing bikes that they had waiting to be tested on the track. What was your day was like? What did you enjoy? What did you detest? At Harley Davidson my day was the best it could be. I learned a lot about bikes and about the people that work there and why they loved what they did and why they do it. I enjoyed learning about bikes and putting some of them together and

putting on accessories on bikes that people that ordered them and even helping out the mechanic who worked on the racing bikes. At Harley I didn’t really detest anything but waiting for the guy I was going to work with but other than that I really enjoyed going there. Overall Impression The thing I liked most at Harley was learning. I learned a lot about bikes and that it is only seasonal because nobody rides when it’s cold like in the winter. I also learned that a bike engine was very similar to a car engine and that it is just long not wide like a car. Recommendation I would recommend this job to someone that is patient and takes their time to get things done properly and correct, someone who enjoys working with their hands, someone who likes the mystery of why things aren’t working the way they are supposed to and likes to figure out why and how they are going to change the thing that is broken or malfunctioning. The career pathway for this job is to pick courses that involve things being built or even fix. This will help you with fixing things or learning how things operate and how they can be fixed.
