Bay of Kotor
Lake Skadar
The Blue Cave
BEAUTY, TRANQUILITY & FUN!
Kayaking is a fantastic way to explore one of the most beautiful places in a country bursting with natural beauty. Lake Skadar is home to hundreds of bird species, many of them rare and endangered. Kayaking on the lake allows you to explore tiny lily pad lined alleys and watch the native wildlife without scaring it away.
Famous for the iridescent blue that’s reflected throughout the cave, the Blue Cave is one of Montenegro’s many must-see natural attractions. The cave is the largest of many caves on the Luštica Peninsula, and is named because of the way the light hits the sandy bottom and reflects up through the water makes the whole cave look blue.
When you visit the Bay of Kotor, you’ll join a centuries-old group who have been seduced by its natural beauty. The ‘bay’ or fjord as it’s commonly referred to isn’t actually either of these. It’s a ‘ria’ that opens into the Adriatic Sea. In Montenegro you’ll often hear it just called ‘Boka’ or ‘Bay’... there’s no need to say which bay, around here there’s only one!
WELCOME TO BOKA!
DON’T FORGET YOUR SNORKEL!
