Magic Carpet can be installed into almost any environment with all cabling and system
components neatly hidden out of reach,
The fixed option is perfect for a dedicated space such as a Classroom, Library, Sensory
Room or School Hall.
This little box of magic has an electronic lift to vary the size of the projection image to suit all environments 1.3 - 3.6M wide. Can project on to floors,
tables, beds, wheelchair trays and beyond. Which colour will you choose?
Magic Carpet is used in over 250 special needs schools in the UK, stimulating
and engaging learners of all levels and abilities.
Magic Carpet has multi-user recognition to support group interaction and
can be accessed using several access methods – from gesture, to eye gaze,
touch or mouse! Magic Carpet Apps respond to the slightest of movements,
providing instant dynamic audio-visual feedback, which is unrivaled by other
products in the market. Magic Carpet is fully customisable and can be tailored
to suit individual needs.
Magic Carpet is used in more than 50 hospitals by play specialists
for rehabilitation and enjoyment purposes. Therapists rave about
Magic Carpet’s ability to create a feel-good factor that can often
be missing from hospital wards, through its ability to de-stress,
excite and entertain patients.
Magic Carpet can schedule an automated playlist, which means
no facilitator intervention is needed to run the system, so it is not
resource intensive. The device can be projected onto any wipe
clean surface like a wheelchair tray, or floor. This makes Magic
Carpet fully compliant with hospital infection control practices.
Magic Carpet is not just for children. Approximately a third of our
systems are used in adult day care and dementia care settings.
Magic Carpet is a fantastic interactive resource, whether in a
sensory room, as part of a therapeutic intervention, or perhaps
used by a group in an interactive music making session – the
possibilities are endless!
We are proud to say that nearly every Children’s hospice
in the UK has a stand-alone Magic Carpet, or incorporates
the system as part of a Sensory Guru room, thanks to our
partnership with the fantastic charity, Lifelites!
In a hospice setting Magic Carpet enables children with life
limiting conditions to interact on equal terms with parents
and siblings.
Magic Carpet provides an immersive sensory environment
where people with complex needs can learn as they explore.
Users get to experience cause and effect and the amount of
visual and auditory stimulation and feedback can be scaled
to meet the different levels required for different individuals.
With Magic Carpet every action produces a dynamically
proportionate response, creating an interaction feedback
loop. The immediacy of the feedback and the repetition of
cause and effect can help to enhance short and long term
memory function.
It provides users with limited mobility a medium to gain
access and control. This enables them to explore the world
around them and gives them the opportunity to see and
experience the effect that their actions, no matter how small,
can have.
Magic Carpet stimulates a number of sensory modalities to
help bring user experiences to life,
People with ASD tend to exhibit significantly different
patterns of sensory processing to their peers. They can
experience sensory overload, which can lead them to
withdraw or exhibit challenging behaviour.
Magic Carpet is completely customisable, which means it
can provide the right filters and interventions to help improve
the brains ability to process sensory information and to
tolerate sensations and situations that can be challenging or
distracting.
Regular Magic Carpet use with pupils at St. Josephs
Specialist School and College has been linked to
improvements in tolerance, enhanced sensory thresholds,
concentration and behaviour.
Magic Carpet engages the visual, auditory, tactile,
proprioceptive and vestibular sensory modalities and offers
scalable levels of sensory stimulation to suit individual needs.
Magic Carpet can be used 1:1 to help create a quiet,
calming space; or in a group, to help students, improve
communication abilities and social interaction skills.
Research has shown multi-sensory environments can have an
extremely positive impact for people with dementia.
Magic Carpet helps to improve user’s ability to undertake every
day cognitive tasks, by enabling them to interact with the world
around them though the stimulation of sight, sound, touch and
movement.
The completely customisable technology and choice of over
1000 applications gives users personal decision making ability
and allows them to select specific applications that may evoke
key memories.
This decision-making ability helps to improve confidence and
feelings of self-worth. Users can also create relaxing, calming
spaces that can enhance feelings of comfort and well-being,
while relieving stress and anxiety.
Magic Carpet is accessible and safe and can be used by single
participants or as part of a group, allowing users to develop their
communication skills and helping to keep their brain active.
For people with learning disabilities, Magic Carpet provides
valuable opportunities for them to develop their communication
and social interaction skills, as well as to learn and play through
exploration and movement.
Magic Carpet users gain immense satisfaction and enjoyment
from seeing the effects that their actions can have. This enables
them to develop their understanding of cause and effect,
sequencing and memory,
Magic Carpet can be both relaxing and stimulating with apps to
suit all ages and abilities. It is equally at home in a Sensory Room
used to calm and relax users as it is in a school to stimulate,
engage and excite learners.
