A Letter from Felicity to the Zookeeper

Objectives: ... write in different forms for different purposes... use basic capitalization and punctuation correctly

The zookeeper found Felicity’s finger prints on his animals. He wrote Felicity a letter. When she got the letter, she wrote a letter back to him. With your partner, mark the things she needs to fix. Watch for capitals, spelling, and punctuation. Also help her with the correct words to make her letter the best it can be. Then, on the next page, recopy the letter in its edited form. Felicity did a good job on indenting. Be sure you indent like she did!

Dear mr zookeeper

I lick the animals in your zoo. I am sorry for making

them sik the emu and kangaroo looked soft. I wanted to

pet them? I did not mean to get my hand prints on them.

I guess some of my green nose goo was on my hands.

my favorite animal is the elephant and i hugged its

trunk and it sat down and its eyes got droopy. did it catch

my cold.

I will not come to see the animals when I have a cold

agin say hello to the monkey for me

your frend
