Pru Spofford is an outgoing and friendly face at Albertina’s Jewel Box. She loves helping customers with their selections and purchases, keeping the shop tidy, adding new merchandise and assisting the Albertina’s closet models in choosing which Jewel Box items they’ll show off as they model during lunch.

“the commitment is small, but the reward is huge.” Pru also works on jewelry intake, working with the Old Kerr Nursery Board chair miki herman to accurately record the details and price of each of the beautiful pieces found in Albertina’s Jewel Box. Pru loves knowing that her volunteer effort is supporting Albertina Kerr and encourages anyone who is interested to visit Albertina’s Place to learn about all the great volunteer opportunities.

Albertina Kerr’s community Promise historic multiphase capital campaign is well underway! to date, more than $3.8 million has been raised in the largest and most consequential campaign since the late 1920s when volunteers raised funds to establish the campus in Gresham and the Old Kerr Nursery.

the $11 million campaign will help Albertina Kerr deliver our promise to be there for vulnerable children and adults into the future with a specialized campus for children’s mental health, new group homes for adults with developmental disabilities and long-term community Promise fund.

At the campus for children’s mental health, construction of the expansion to the crisis Psychiatric care building and the new group homes for children with the most intensive care needs are nearing completion. the historic Louise building will be expanded and revitalized, which will become the hub for the community-based care. construction will begin when 75 percent of funds are raised for the campus for children’s mental health, anticipated in late fall.

to learn more about the community Promise campaign, how to get involved or to make a donation, visit AlbertinaKerr.org/community Promise or call Jodi Lippert, chief development Officer, at 503-262-0185.

All events are at Albertina’s Place. Reservations and prepayment for Luncheon Learns and teas required, call 503-231-0216. Luncheon Learns include lunch. Learn more at AlbertinasPlace.org.
