What Is Discipleship?

Defining Discipleship

(Matt 4:19): And He *said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

3 Parts to Jesus’ statement:

1. Follow Me: It’s a Mental decision to follow Jesus

2. I Will Make You: A Heart decision to all Him to change you into His image

3. Fishers of Men: Creates Action; you develop relationships with others to change

their life (ref. Tim 2:2)

Keys To Transparency

1. Be real. It builds trust2. Everybody sees through fakeness3. Fakeness causes distrust4. Be listeners first5. Share failures & help move forward past failure
