Difficult to handle bulk materials SHW Schwäbische Hüttenwerke is a traditional

company that has been trading for 640 years

and since the 1960s has been constantly

developing and manufacturing components

and installations for the storage and transport

of difficult to handle bulk materials. Technical

innovations from our company SHW Storage &

Handling Solutions, over the past few deca-

des, have changed decisively the way that

difficult to handle bulk materials are stored

and distributed. Numerous patents and sys-

tems testify to this which is now used as the

standard or benchmark to the industry.

Our varied business activities range from the

supply of single standard components to

tailor made solutions to suit a customer's

individual requirements. We can design and

project manage complete systems, providing

the customer with the optimum solutions.

Naturally we can also help our customer to

maintain and service his equipment by offe-

ring planned maintenance and spare parts

stocking advice as well as advising them

about up to date retro fits to their existing

Rotor

An optimum discharge unit for difficult to handle bulk materials

stored in circular silos. Self-adjustment of the drag arm position

and the driving torque control to the moving behaviour of the

bulk material.

Rotating Screw The discharge unit for dry / semi-dry difficult to handle bulk

materials. The manufacture of the screw is dependent on the

bulk material - scarifiers, screw pitch, construction size

1,450 mm (5 ft) diameter with two screws possible.

Oscillating Frame With both rotating and oscillating movement,

dry, difficult to handle bulk materials can be

discharged very well.

Beside the oscillating movements necessary for a

continuous discharge, complete rotations (for example

Sliding Frame Ideal discharge unit for dry to wet difficult to handle bulk

materials. The sliding frame can also be split into two frames,

operated shifted. Both designs are hydraulically driven.

Eccentric Frame The ideal discharge unit for both wet and dry bulk materials.

For circular silos there is a rotating and eccentric movement

of the rotary wheel. For rectangular silos, the frame moves

eccentrically.

Relief Systems The SHW-SHS relief systems enable the weight of the bulk

material to be divided gradually in the silo. By doing this

then stable bridge building is prevented. Furthermore the

pressure of the bulk material column on the outlet will be

reduced.

The result is that the bulk material can be discharged

better and the discharge components will be protected.

As well as a higher degree of operational safety this also

has positive effects on the durability of the components.

The installation and configu-

ration of the SHW-SHS relief

systems will be adjusted to

the properties of the bulk ma-

terial and is available for both

steel and concrete silos.
