What is the Academy?

The Academy for Chief Executives is a leading organisation that helps business leaders grow themselves and their business performance. We know that the role of a leader is demanding and getting the right advice and support when making your most difficult decisions is critical to your business success. The Academy works in small regional groups of up to 12 non-competing Chief Executives and Managing Directors who meet monthly in a confidential, peer group-learning environment. Using the combined experience of the group will help you make the right decisions and importantly take the right action. Each group is facilitated by a highly experienced business person, the Group Chairman, whose main purpose is to maximize the value delivered to you and your business.

Peer group learning Put together in one room a group of business leaders from different sectors and industries and you have combined a massive amount of experience and expertise - all of which is at your disposal in a peer group learning session.As a member of the group, you will often find that business problems or challenges that you currently face have also been faced by other group members before. Together you can discuss these, learn from each other’s experience and benefit from the combined expertise of the group.

Mentoring and coaching Sometimes as business leaders we can almost ‘sense’ some of the problems we face, but for all sorts of reasons we have blind spots and don’t seem to be able to see them – or their solutions – clearly. It’s really valuable to have a more experienced person to discuss these issues with and to gain from their insights and expertise – in short; a mentor and coach.An essential element of Academy membership is the one-to-one monthly mentoring and coaching sessions with your group chairman. These sessions (normally held at the member’s place of work) allow the highly experienced chairman to help explore issues that members face in a private and supportive environment with complete confidentiality.

Expert speakers When you need to refuel with new ideas, you’ll find all the Academy’s speakers are internationally renowned (and often world famous) experts in innovative approaches to business and inspiring new attitudes to achieving success.
