Briarfield Careers [email protected] Director of Finance The Director Finance / Division Controller will have primary responsibility for the performance and coordination of the accounting and finance functions for the operating division of a privately held middle-market manufacturer. In addition, will function as a trusted business partner to the Division General Manager in driving operational efficiency, delivering cost saving initiatives and achieving performance targets. Primary responsibilities: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements including statement of cash flows Maintain general ledger and review journal entries Assure all balance sheet accounts are analyzed and reconciled on a monthly basis Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections Perform treasury management activities including weekly cash forecasts Manage fixed asset accounting Prepare capital projects analysis including cost justification Perform analysis of monthly financial statements highlighting areas requiring attention Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts along with management reporting package Coordinate budget process and prepare the annual operating plan Lead efforts to minimize working capital and control inventory Oversee cost accounting activities and analyze manufacturing variances Support the annual financial statement audit and tax return preparation with external accounting firm, providing all necessary schedules and documentation Ensure all departmental policies and procedures are documented, maintained and adhered to Maintain adequate system of internal controls Supervise and mentor direct report(s) including staff accountant(s) Education Bachelor’s degree Major in Accounting preferred not required 8 + years of progressive accounting and finance experience with at least three years in a leadership role Requirements: Extensive month-end close and financial statement preparation experience Strong GAAP knowledge and cost accounting expertise Working knowledge of cost accounting. Strong financial experience. Advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel Working knowledge of, and experience utilizing, ERP systems Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required
