PART 1: Map Identification 200 point homework grade Our studies of Human Geography will take us around the world. In order to better understand our studies along the way, it will help if you are familiar with locations of countries currently found in the world. Keep in mind that although there will be a major map assessment in the first two weeks and also map quizzes throughout the year; this class is much more than the memorization of place names or regions. DIRECTIONS: Label the locations listed below on the appropriate map. A complete list of countries and maps have been included. Label neatly, as you will be referencing these maps throughout the year. Small or peripheral political units may have to be drawn in. Map quizzes will be given throughout the school year. The first map quiz will take place on the 1st day the second week of school and will address the COUNTRIES of North America AND South America. The second and third quizzes will take place in the third week of school and include: Europe and Asia, then the Middle East and Africa. There are numerous websites you can use to practice for map quizzes. The following website has been used by students in previous years and is a handy resource: http://www.ilike2learn.com/ You will hand in the 10 map assignments for a double homework grade on the first day of school.
