Block diagram description

Introduction -

In general where the cold storage plant are manual operation based they always face a problem of power managing and temperature maintaining besides. At. this is not feasible for the handling plant. so to control the plant and stay connected is essential because of very large quantity of material is involved which is temperature dependant and costly.

So for that purpose a system is configured by GSM technology. The power supply states is monitored by step down transformer circuit. and temperature is monitored by the temperature sensor inside the chamber connected to the circuit. as any change in temperature is occurred and change in power status the situation is informed to the user by an sms (Short Message Service).the Gsm module is configured to microcontroller by serial interfacing .the hard ware system is configured to work in power failure situation powered by the battery. System will monitored by remotely as well as controlled also that means by sending an SMS the switching of the power switching is selected by user by sending a sms. Microcontroller Unit:-The detected signal is received & according to the assigned code & number the

Operation is display and controlling operation will be performed accordingly. All other function will be performed by microcontroller.

The AT89C555WD is a low-power, high-performance CMOS 8-bit microcomputer with 4K bytes of Flash programmable and erasable read only memory (PEROM). The device is manufactured using Atmels high-density nonvolatile memory technology and is compatible with the industry-standard MCS-51 instruction set and pin out. The on-chip Flash allows the program memory to be Reprogrammed in-system or by a conventional nonvolatile memory programmer. By combining a versatile 8-bit CPU with Flash on a monolithic chip, the Atmel AT89C55WD is a powerful microcomputer which provides a highly-flexible and cost-effective solution to many embedded control applications.

Microcontroller IC 89c55WD is heart of our project. We select this Microcontroller IC for our project for following no. of advantages.1) Internal 64K bytes of electrically erasable programmable read only memory for feeding program so that there is no need of external EPROM.

2) Four 8 bit i/p o/p port out of which we use one port to read no at o/p of DTMF decoder and other port issue to connect relay for operating devices through it.

3) Operating voltage of 3.5 to 6V D.C. which is easily available by using voltage regulator IC.

4) Internal 128 byte RAM to store temporally storage of data. In which we can feed took up table to turn ON/OFF relay.

5) Two 16 bit time /counter are present for timing & counting purpose.

6) 4 external & 2 internal interrupt are available.

Crystal & Reset Circuit:-

12MHz quartz ceramic crystal is connected between pin XTAL1, & XTAL2 of Microcontroller to produce machine cycle for fetch & execution of instruction. And at pin 9RST pin we connect R.C n/w to provide reset pulse when power is turn ON so that program execution starts from memory location 0000H.

Power Supply:-

For our all IC we require 5V D.C. supply which can be generated by step down transformer, full wave bridge rectifier, filter condenser & voltage regulator IC7805.

12V supply for relay is generated separately using the same procedure as above.

buffer Driver:

This stage provides the needed isolation from the main driver stage as well as current boost of the microcontroller signal.

As micro controller dont have the driving capability. It can only drive up to 4mA only.

Motor Driver:

This is the final driver stage it incorporates the configuration to achieve the full control over the motor in both direction that is forward and reverse direction. by using relays the switching of the motor is controlled.

RS232 communication-

This stage is interfacing stage in which level of the signal is converted to microcontroller serial communication level. this work as serial communication signal level shifter for communication. the gsm module to microcontroller interfacing is done by the MAX 232 IC.Advantages1. Very fast in operation accurate and has a very fast response.

2. Low power consumption.3. The system is Low cost.
