    Description Function and application

The signal amplier DIM SA in combination with 1...10V control

units is used for the control of electronic ballasts (ECG) with a

    1...10V interface.

The following applications are available, depending on the con-

    nection (see the connection diagram):

Increase in the number of electronic ballasts and luminaires

that can be connected to the control unit.

Increase in the permissible control line length.

Conguration of lighting with daylight-dependent control or

daylight- and motion-dependent control (in combination with

a suitable light sensor or light and motion sensor).

    Connections

The signal amplier has the following connections:

    Power supply (A)

    110V input (B)

    110V output (C)

    Installation Safety instructions

The signal amplier must only be installed and put into opera-

tion by a qualied electrician. The applicable safety regulations

and accident prevention regulations must be observed.

    WARNING!

    Exposed, live cables.

    Danger of electric shock!

Only work on the signal amplier when it is

    de-energised.

    CAUTION!

Destruction of the signal amplier and other devices

    through incorrect mounting!

Do not connect the control outputs of multiple

    signal ampliers in parallel.

Only use ballasts with a 1...10V interface.

Do not exceed the maximum number of connect-

    able components.

Only supply signal ampliers with an AC operat-

ing voltage, especially in networks with UPSsystems.

    Connecting the signal amplier

D Increase in the number of electronic ballasts and lumi-

naires that can be connected to the control unit (H)

Connect the control output of the control unit with the

1...10V inputs of the signal amplier.

Connect the 1...10V outputs of the signal amplier with

the 1...10V control inputs of the electronic ballast.

    Note:

Ensure that the conguration is symmetric:

As far as possible, distribute the number of electronicballasts evenly among the signal ampliers.

Connect all electronic ballasts to the signal ampliers if

possible. If some of the electronic ballasts are connected

directly to the control unit, dim settings and dim speeds

    may vary within the system.
