The refurbishment of a residential unit from the 1950s in the mountain resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo
provided the opportunity to redistribute and widen the existing interior spaces by introducing integrated
elements, such as custom furniture and wainscoting, which completely refashioned the inner spaces.
Two wooden boxes make up the living room: the first full box was positioned to build up the wall it
shares with the kitchen, while the second hollow box partially embraces the new custom-made dining
table. Throughout the entire apartment we installed custom-designed oak cabinets, which are integrated
into the wainscoting.
