Linguistics Call for Papers
The XVI interdisciplinary Diálogos conference, organized by the Graduate Student Advisory Committee (GSAC) of the Spanish and Portuguese Department at Indiana University-Bloomington, will be held on February 22-23, 2019. We are seeking original research in linguistics on a variety of topics including but not limited to: linguistic variation, dialectology, language acquisition, pragmatics, semantics, phonology, syntax, bilingualism, historical and comparative linguistics, and language contact. Submissions and presentations may be in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or Catalan, although presentations may engage with data from languages other than the aforementioned (e.g., French phonology, Swahili syntax).
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: December 7, 2018Please submit an anonymous 500-word abstract with a presentation and/or panel title by December 7th via e-mail to [email protected]. All personal information should be included in the body of the email message and should include your name, major and minor areas of study, email, institution address, telephone number (office or home), and title of your presentation. Submissions of panels of three or four presenters organized around a common theme are encouraged. Individual presentation time should not exceed twenty minutes. Please notify us if you require audiovisual equipment such as laptops, projector, or speakers. There is a $20 registration fee payable upon acceptance of your proposal.
