ACADEMIC PROJECT DETAILS

DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF OIL COOLERDESCRIPTION :- The heat exchangers are widely used in oil coolers, refrigerators and in power. The present project deals with the oil cooler which is a shell and tube type heat exchanger. The specifications are taken from BHEL Hyd. In this heat exchanger oil as hot fluid is supplied in shell side where as cold water is allowed to pass through tubes. The performance of heat exchangers used in industrial areas can be enhanced by introducing ‘Nano Fluid’. The thermo physical properties like thermal conductivity,Co-efficient of heat transfer and specific heat of nano fluids are better than the water. It is proposed to replace ordinary water with Nano fluid. Oil cooler model will be prepared using CATIA V5 R19.Thermal analysis will be carried out using ANSYS10.0
