    Executive Order No. 2O3.series of 1987, and Presidential Proclamation No. 466 series of1989, declare April 9 of every year as Araw ng Kagitingaa, and the pedod of April 5 to 11 asPhilippine Veterans Week, respectively.The 2014 celebration and observance of the two (2) events will comprise meaningful

    activities intended to promote, preserve and memorialize the ideds and heroic deeds of FilipinoVeterans. On the 9s of April, His Ercellency, President Benigno S. Aquino will be leading the72d Commemoration of the Araw ng Kagitingan in Mt. Samal National Shrine, Pilar, Bataan, withthe theme, "Ang Beterano: Sigla at Inspirasyon ng Kabataan Tungo sa Tuwid na Daan."

    Relative to the above, all Local Chief Executives are hereby encouraged to conduct simplebut meaningftll activities such as, but not limited to, the display of streamers infront of theprovincial, city, or municipal halls, posting of related commemorative information materials inLGU websites, wreath-laying and commemorating rites, among others in their respectivelocalities, aimed to promote historical awareness, patriotism, love of country and sense of nadonalpride.

    For related inquiries, all concerned may directly coordinate with the Secretariat or FocalCoordinating Office: Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, QuezonCity at Telephone No. (02) 9lt-42-96.

    All DILG Regional Directors and the ARMM Regional Governor are hereby directed tocause the widest dissemination of this Grcular, to local governments within their areas ofresponsibilities, and to conduct similar activities in their respective regional offices.
